any thoughts on the 516? I can pick one up used but in good shape for 315.00 but dont know enough about them or if this is a good price? I may just stick with the aimpoint i have discussed with cris

$315 is cheaper than the $500+ for the Aimpoint.
looks like my 511 except it has the buttons on the side instead of in the rear, so if you were to get a 3X or 4X magnifier, it would not be a PITA to turn it on and off and adjust.. plus it uses CR123 batteries.. my buddy has this one.. worked well when I shot his rifle...

was able to work out a deal for 300.00.. will have it tomorrow
if its "like new": that is a great deal
