Nah not yet! Everything else just takes me 30-40 mins to get to. That bad boy is litterally just down the street.

They seem pricey for guns. I see an M&P15 for $1,500 and my buddy got literally the same setup for a considerable amount less. Also didn't think Bushies were that expensive

It's the taj mahal effect. You build something big and nice to attract people, somehow you have to pay for it. Making $25-$50 a gun and selling 1,000/month isn't going to pay those kinds of bills and feed employees.

That's for sure! Hopefully the prices go down. I wonder what there range fees are?

If I was a new place I would start off with the lowest prices possible to see if I can steal all the surrounding business. Being as large as people are saying, if he can start generating the high volume of sales he can continue to offer the lowest price and increase his profit as his volume ordering margins go up on the back end.

Opening up and putting the highest price on stuff hoping people will pay it just to say they got it from your big fancy place is the stupidest move you can do right now. Look at the furniture and bedding stores that are constantly running sales because their overpriced names are not low enough to meet what people want to pay.

Enjoy the range while you can... place won't last a year if they don't get smart. They could also increase their order volumes by selling wholesale online like Bud's Gun Shop.

actually Cris, he has been open at another location for about 12 years.. does alot of LE sales and i have witnessed customers come in and plunk down what most of us smart shoppers would think are high prices without even questioning him.. He will also be filling a need in north broward for a indoor range since revere is small and out dated. and Palm beach county ranges make you buy their ammo.. I know it will save me 30 minutes plus then going to the indoor range I use now (Arizona near Gun Tech) , If i can save time drive not even ten minutes from home to shoot I am sure many others will do the same. Plus it is right off I95 which will be an easy draw for customers.. just my thoughts on the subject thinking it will be around for more then a year..

Someone said above he wouldn't survive on 25-50$ profit per weapon. So that would lend me to believe his rent is astronomical and a place that size likely won't survive on range fees alone. If you say he's got a lot of LE contracts then good, he'll need them. I don't know why anyone would overpay on items as expensive as firearms. That's just certifiable madness, I thought they asked people if they had mental illness on the 4473 and CWP application? =)

i agree 100% about overpaying but there are many who do as those who live here in south florida see with shops like Delrey shooting center and some others who charge thru the nose .. but time will tell with this shop .

Probably the same idiots that pay 10 times too much to have HGTV come do their yards so they can be on TV and tell everyone it was done by them even though it looks like crap.

This will bring a much needed help to us here in Broward. It cuts down on drive time and fees at other locals. Not sure if he'll last cuz I damn sure wont be paying high prices for weapons I know I can get for less, but I'd happily enjoy the range.

No idea! I see if I can stop by one of these days and check the place out. More than likely someone else might beat me to it.

Stopped by yesterday and looked around. The new range will be up and running late Dec/Jan, which means most likely even later than that. There is not going to be any 100 yd indoor range. 50 ft (15 yds) is what it will be. I talked to the VP and very informative about the plans that they had. They will be open to trainers for teaching which is good for me. It is right around the corner from my shop.

I am not familiar with the company but I can tell you that the name came up from an Officer last night and he did not give a very good review on the place. I am always willing to check them out though, plus a new range means good ventilation. Open to trainers will be good for me also.

15 yards is very dissappointing

JaxChris

Spikes, he meant 25 yards (75ft = 25yd) which is standard pistol/rimfire depth. =)

Sadly one of our indoor ranges caught fire last night and is now ruined. Bye bye Indoor Shooting Company. =(

KGB is by appointment only, as it isn't a storefront. Let's just say it's off of McNab east of Powerline.

I wouldn't have expected much more from an indoor range in the city anyway.

JaxChris
08-27-2009, 03:55 PM
Really? We have 75ft indoor all over the city here. That's the standard. Our 300ft outdoors are in the city and the 300ft indoors are edge of town, which I think is backwards. Wouldn't you want to indoor ones in the city and the outdoor on the edge of town.

I checked out that new shop in Pompano yesterday. The shop itself didn't seem all to bad. They seem to have a huge inventory of tactical gear, items etc. As far as customer service, it sucked! I walked around the place for like 15 minutes before anyone said anything to me. There were two females in there and one did nothing but give me all kinds of looks. It may of been a flirt thing, but the wife didn't take to kindly either way. They were friendly after the fact of course!
The only plus in my eyes to the shop is the extent of the tac-gear they have on hand, but all there prices are MSRP.

Guntech is still a better outfit as far us customer service and still has a great selection of gear at a reasonable price.

I must agree with you. Guntech all the way.

I being in their store twice. Not very impress. I rather drive 35 miles to Lou's at Miami. They are the same people "National" from Fort Lauderdale State Road 84. They are super expensive, service is crappy at best. They had a bad reputation with lots of LEO departments in Broward County. I had my issues with them but eventually got my money back after waiting three months for a Glock 19 that never arrived.

At Guntech Richard take care of you, help you out and reasonable prices.

I will watch National but honestly, don't trust them.

I've been meaning to post about this for awhile now.

I recently went up to National on a whim. I needed to kill some time and had shit to do while I was waiting for the wife. Gun store is still not my favorite, but I spoke to the range master who was a top notch cat. Military vet and instructor. We talked for about 30 mins or so about his classrooms which are located up stairs. It's 15 per hr on a lane, but the perk for instructors is nice. You teach your class else where and you can do an hr range time with your class for $15. They also rent guns, which by the looks of some of there prices isn't to bad. I've never rented so I don know the mark up. Ammo price was ridiculous. I don't remember the price but he was more than willing to let me shoot down to the walmart and pick up my own ammo. If I can find my receipt for the outing I'll share but I ended up paying like $40 something with tax and all for the short time I was there.

Standard range down stairs and he's currently building a tactical range upstairs to do more classes etc. Just based on my interaction with the range master I'd probably go back, but with my own ammo and all that good stuff.

Interesting....I was buying tile down the street and had decided to stop in and take a look. It was a while ago though...probably 4 months ago or so and it seemed like they were still building the ranges. Was thinking of swinging back there to see if they have any eagle stock pads and at what price. When I was there last time I asked them about their price on a Remington 700. The young guy there proceeded to give me an 870 shotugn doh!
