So far the number of CCW permits issued in the state is Concealed Weapons/Firearms 621,447.
These are the current stats as of 8/31/09. I'm not sure what the Florida population is, but at least there is a good number of us exercising our right to carry.

Only 3% of the state is carrying then. Current population estimates have Florida listed as 18,800,000. Subtract inmates (200,000) and guess at illegal population (2,000,000) and we have a roughly adjusted figure of 16,600,000. Based on that figure the total people with concealed permits is 3.7%.

Not nearly high enough in my opinion. Then again there is probably another 20,000 applications sitting in that mail room.

Wish we could get more people exercising their rights down here.
