I wouldn't shoot wolf in my AR. If I had an AK I would.

There is nothing wrong with Wolf... it's cleaner than Winchester too. Just clean your weapons! =)

Wolf is fine, I shoot wolf, the bear stuff and what ever i can get my hands on that doesnt kill my wallet, the AR is a fighting rifle, it is suppose to get dirty and still operate. My Current Xm177 has about 1k of wolf shot alreay with out a single hiccup.. a major plus 1 for AIM , they are great to deal with ..

Isn't wolf steal casing? Yeah, that's not going through my AR. I like my firing pin.

Wlf shouldnt damage your firing pin
Ive heard of extractor issues from time to time but ive also heard alot of positives
In todays ammo world this is a good deal no matter how you slice it.
To each their own on whether it will work for you

Wolf steel cases are polymer coated. It doesn't rub or melt off like lacquer, and provides very smooth feeding. Think of it like teflon coating.
There's no issue with firing pins. The extractor issue people claimed were 5 years ago back when Wolf was lacquer coated. The lacquer could slime off if a round was left in a hot weapon and allow the casing to stick in the weapon. Since switching to the polymer coating, Wolf has been rated the most reliable ammo in testing by shooter magazines.
Only difference between Wolf black box and Wolf military classic is that the classic uses berdan primers and are loaded hot to mil-spec M193 pressure and velocity. The Wolf black box is a commercial load.
The woman's rifle is about done now. I have 100 rounds of XM193 that will be part of the break in, but the rest will be Wolf. I'm just waiting for the batches of 75gr Wolf HP's to get into the market (yep, Wolf has a nice 75gr HP which is just slightly more than 62gr HP - 320$/1000 vs 300$/1000). A 16" SPR with CHF Melonited coated barrel in 1/7 twist running 75gr bullets should have very good 300-500 yard results. Just need to find a decent scope that's light and has gross movement zoom. Would like 1-9x, but will likely be stuck with 3-9x.
Even after I get my SBR done, it will run Wolf as well.
If you want to know more on Wolf ammo, just ask. I've done a lot of research on it and I've shot it - it's damn good ammo.
I have been hearing the Wolf has been changing also from the old crap. Will I still use it? Probably not. For being notorious for so many years of being a lower grade ammo, I just can't change my thoughts on it. Now if I had and AK I would be running Wolf in it all day long. Not putting that stuff in either of my AR's.

Look for the Tula... its $200/1000... we're ALMOST back to pre election prices...ive been holding off on buying ammo.
You could buy a number of extractors and even in the long run a few barrels and bolts with the ammo savings not to say you would need to replace anything. If you don't reload, why wouldn't you?

Ok now just curious as to why people have no issues shooting wolf thru an AK but an AR. Just curious as the only reason I have never shot Wolf through my AR is from others scaring me away from it. Also what damage would the Wolf do to the AR?

Is it also dirtier than WWB or UMC?

Hell no, Wolf is cleaner than WWB or UMC. UMC & WWB is the cheapest made shit out there, but it's "Made in the USA" so it costs more than the Eastern Europe, Turkish, and Russian made Wolf ammo.
If you've shot Blazer Brass and WWB, you see how dirty WWB is compared to Blazer. Wolf is similar to Blazer Brass.
And most people that complain about Wolf have either not shot it in 3-4 years, never shot it and repeat old garbage talk, have a weapon that isn't well built that doesn't eat everything (they have trouble with other ammo's also), or are snobs.
Wolf will not damage your weapon and if your weapon is built right (i.e. doesn't have trouble with any other ammo - that's a sign of an issue you should fix) you can shoot Wolf all day long.
If steel case ammo was so bad, then why is Hornady training ammo (i.e. TAP LE training) steel cased and contracted through Wolf?
The US Army is also buying Wolf as training ammo now because brass was becoming expensive & short supply for ATK. In fact, we are providing the IDF and Iraqi military & police we are training Wolf ammo as well.
Next time you're at a show, grab one box of Wolf for your favorite pistol. Take that and a box of WWB with you to the range. Shoot off a mag of Wolf and then shoot a mag of WWB, you'll be able to tell the difference. WWB chokes me compared to Wolf. I'll shoot WWB as long as I can find it because it is cheap and I clean my weapon. But that's for pistol only. Wolf is cheaper for rifle (26 cents/round + shipping), even compared to Walmart (40 cents/round + tax), so all my future rifle ammo will likely be Wolf. For pistol I will use Wolf (35 cents/round + shipping) if I can't find any at Walmart (30 cents/round + tax) first.
Don't believe all the haters out there... nothing wrong with Wolf.
/end rant

Well if we are giving them Sigma's then I feel sorry for them... but hey, we have to offload them somehow. Once S&W runs through their inventory of Sigma's maybe we'll start sending them Hi-Points. lol =)
