Looking for a small pocket pistol. I'm thinking a hammerless airweight type .38 as a back up piece.

Just get a Glock 26 :) . I've heard most of those little pocket pistols, like the keltecs, are not very reliable. I may be wrong. See what the other guys say, but meh. I'd rather just have a subcompact myself. And if you wear it in a crossbreed you'll never wanna throw a gun in your pocket anyways.

Revolvers are a completely different class compared to semi-auto's Matt. The S&W Airweight 38 is a great little carry piece that won't kill your hand if you decide to take it to the range - unlike the 357 model which will kill your hand. But you can shoot 38 in the 357 model if you want the option of either round (38 for range and 357 for carry).

Billy, check with Cris on the Airweights... I believe he just got one.

Cris got the elite of the S&W lightweight revolvers... the 340PD. A S&W 442 Airweight is a 15 oz .38 spec rated for +P which is no slouch either at about 1/2 the price of a 340PD. Great pocket gun as well.

Hey SS can you keep an eye out at the shop for a decent revolver. I know you guys deal with a lot of trade ins and consignment pieces. Thanks man!

unfortunately, 642's and 442's are well sought after and understandably so, they are great guns. The after market wont show you a whole lot of savings on them, they carry value very well.
Honestly, IMHO they are worth every penny of the MSRP.
Guns that will last a lifetime and then some

I stopped in Guntech the other day and checked out a few Smith revolvers that were in stock. Nice, but I'd really like to handle one of the Taurus Ultra Lites!

Does this mean I have reached your guys level of being an elitist? :raspberry:

Yes I did get the Air Lite 340PD. It is a great pocket gun, but it is very pricey, you could almost get two Airweights for the same price.

Either of these models are not really range guns, as they are not fun to shoot whether you shoot .38 special or .357. The frame size is not comfortable in the hand no matter which way you look at it. You have to sacrifice something though when it comes to concealing a gun.

Billy, if I see an Ultra-Lite come through the shop I will try to give you a heads up.
