Its actually kinda sad, we i.e the gun enthusiasts are creating a self perpetuating problem for ourselves

I agree and it actually seems to be holding me back from buying any more ammo right now. I will probably buy a few hundred rounds more for the woman's rifle (for break in) and after that I'm going to sit on my ass. I have my defense ammo loaded and ready to go, which is all I need day-to-day right now.
I do have 2500 rounds of 22 though which I have compiled over time. I'll get a 22 upper made so I can use that as long as 5.56 is still ridiculous.

It is pretty sad.
Some goober goes out and buys every box of ammo he can find because he heard on website X that O'Bammy is gonna take it all. Instead of goober doing a little research he just goes out and buys everything in sight!
Still may get into reloading!
