View Full Version : touching up an idiot scratch
so.... 20+ years ago I put a nice scratch on my 9mm :(
it is on the lower left of the slide stop lever
what can I use to cover it up and still appear to have the factory finish..
your slide stop is steel. Not sure if that is park or bluing on it, but you should be able to use a birchwood casey cold bluing pen to take it out. The only time it doesn't work is if there is a special coating or if it is blackened stainless steel but I'm pretty sure Taurus wouldn't do that lol. It's always good to have in your toolbox along with some alumablack.
ETA: I just noticed that you are talking about the blemish on the frame and not the slide stop itself as it looks like a reflection. The Alumablack should work fine as well. I don't think they make a pen for it, so you might have to buy a bottle. No biggie and you have an AR that would definitely provide some additional use down the road.
Alumablack should work fine
thanks... let me know when you want to fix it for me :tiphat:
You have to come up to broward county again the Lino.
