I likey.. :drool::drool:

looks heavy though

Yes! and it is all your fault.;)

and your right it "looks" heavy but it really ins't. of course, comparing it to other gas-piston units (7.2lbs). I was ready to dump a dough of cash into an AR Build but I had a couple of friends that picked on my brain until I changed my mind. The funny part is that I was set on getting a Micro T-2 for QA sights and then ran into this model/package which comes with it's own Micro. Now wether it compares to it, then that's another story but I have hopes that coming from Sig it will meet my expectations.

I just plan to rig it with railing, stubby grip and by the looks of the stock flash/comp, a efficient comp.

By the way lino... Is that ammo group buy still active?

The look will change a bit once I find the right quad rail system for her.

I am not a fan of the Sig's either, they are extremely front heavy, I can't actually see using them tactically.

The Samson rail looks the best to me, but also looks to be the heaviest.

I think the factory folding stock would look weird with a quad rail, but it's not supposed to be about looks, right? =)

They are a good buy for the money. Reliable as I have seen one handle a carbine course with not hiccups. The problem I have with them is the weight, but I would like to SBR one of their pistols as a pet project......

ETA: the micro optic is obviously an aimpoint knockoff. They are more like the H1 as far as specs. Looks decent. I've seen GSG have the same micro dot optic, so I guess there's probably a cheaper off-brand of the same optic floating around out there.

I think you're right but with further research, I found that the only one that has the retaining knob for the folding stock is the SIG's OEM.

Yeah that's what I've heard. Funny though cause yesterday I went in youtube to find some clips and there was this one demo been done by SIG-Sauer and when the guy switched to auto she double fed.... I've read that the factory mags sux a$$ so I got my hands on 4 PMAGS.

As far as the optic. I'll see if it works for me. It is not an aimpoint and I never though it was, but we'll see how it holds up. Even though it is co-witness with the factory flip up, I think I will need to bring all up a bit for better visibility and confort once I get the quad rail installed. In any case if this red-dot fails, I was planning on getting a T-2.

Thx. for the comments guys..:tiphat:

http://i835.photobucket.com/albums/zz278/MAD-MAX-D-1/guns%20misc/IMG_7034.jpg

The EOTech is amazingly easy for quick aquisition and it feels so natural when both eyes are open. The magnifier is clear and even though it is only a 3.25X it brings things to a different perspective.

Due to the 7mm rise on the EO & Mag to clear the folded rear buis, the battle sights can still be cowitnessed with the optics sitting a bit low in the field but still manageable. I can't wait to shoot the shit out of this one.

I'll post a range report when done.

FTS mount is backwards? Not afraid of a deflected casing hitting the glass on the 3x Mag or interfering with the side charging handle? Just curious.

M@D-M@X
07-12-2010, 12:11 AM
FTS mount is backwards?

Actually from what I was told when you are right handed the magnifier should turn to the right, so it can be away from obstructing your field of view since the Halo is used with both eyes open.

Not afraid of a deflected casing hitting the glass on the 3x Mag or interfering with the side charging handle? Just curious.

On the SIG556 the cases are expelled in a forward angle thus missing the optics. Now as far as the charging handle, yes it does handicap its operation when folded but it is still manageable. I did considered turning it around so it folds to the left, but field of view for me is more important than quicker access to the charging handle.

Even though the use of the EOTech & Magnifier is universal, I think they didn't have much of a choice as far as designing a system which would accommodate your typical R. handed, charging weapons (unless you are a lefty). As far as a Black rifle and HK type units, I guess they won't have much of an issue.
