Anyone ever shot trap or skeet? One of the new NRA requirements to get your shotgun cert is you got to shoot trap.
I've never done this shit before and me and some of the guys are supposed to be shooting on Saturday. Any pointers would be a plus!

Aim ahead of your target.

Well yeah, I got that part. Lead the target fire is basically all I had, but if there were anyone who does this for recreation they might have a better grasp on it.

I used to do it all the time. Had my own skeet thrower and all.

The farther out the skeet is the more you need to lead the target. Sights are pretty much all the same from shotgun to shotgun and as long as you're using the same barrel length and shells, all shotguns should perform the same in regards to lead distance over target distance.

Only variable is the speed the skeet is moving, which if you have a manual thrower varies by the person using it. Automated skeet throwers can be set to a specific speed for repeatable results.
