Is Pembroke gun range still a dump?
Pretty still the same place Doug. I am waiting for you to open your gun range so I can shoot there.

Where is this range located? I don't seem to find it in the Firing Range sticky..
Just looked, both Arizona and Pembroke are both in the gun range section.

Gun ranges are either hit or miss these days. They are either a total dump, where you can pretty much do anything you want, or they are very expensive and only let you shoot their $ 50.00 per box ammo. It's a no win situation.

That range sticky is the shit! That damn thing helped get my ass to Trail Glades on Saturday.
Trail Glades
how is the progress at the handgun and rifle side?

Are you local to any of these ranges Max?
Yeah... Aces & Trail Glades...
Issues with these;
Aces is to be cool for handguns since they used to allow you to shoot your handgun as fast as you can show control of it.
I went maybe 3 months ago and that changed to a round a second and they are getting expensive.
Trail Glades, under construction at this time and when I go it is only to sight in my rifles since they have so many restrictions.

Bitch that runs it is insane and shouldn't be allowed near firearms because she is that mentally unstable.
Greetings to all. New member here. In regards to Arizona. I've been going there regularly now for several months and met Adam and Dan there one day - which brought me to this board. I was with my son and we were doing our regular. It was a pleasure to meet the above ppl and we had a great time that day as usual. That being said.. as the people that I deal with there are generally courteous and customer service oriented ( Bert, Matt ), today was different. Since I've been going there we pay, we play, we leave.. it's all good. We were never told of a time limit and the ticket says ( shoot til 4pm ). Truth be told, we usually do about 2 hrs then are done. Today, as usual, I brought additonal ppl to patronize the place and we were actually told that we were over our time and it was $13 per hour and we already owed for an additional hour. I mean, the guy actally came to my lane to tell me this. Then when we came out they made me AND my guests I brought pay for an extra hour Even though the ticket says "Shoot til 4pm" AND we always shoot over an hour or so without issue. I tried to politely speak to the clerk ( older fellow white hair and glasses) and he told me that the shoot til 4 was a typo.. Serously.. THEN after I told him I've been shooting there for some time now without issue and asked to not be charged he mocked me and then said "Are we done?". I was stunned. So continuing my courteous polite manner I asked where the manager was and was pointed towards Bert, who had always been very professional. I explained what had happened and Bert told me Indeed there was an hourly policy when it was busy. I responded I had no problem with that if it was communicated to me and 1) It wasn't until right then and there that it was 2) I've never had an issue "going over time" and 3) the guy was rude as %^$#. Bert refunded mine and my guests additional charges but wtf was that at the counter? And his partner backed him up. As long as that guy works there we will not go back... and noone I know will either. Again, pleasure meeting you guys there but boneheads are plentiful everywhere and we are done with that one. Sorry my first post was like this but I've been good to them and this was wrong. Until we meet again be well.

Yeah they are making changes there for sure. I don't frequent as much as I used to. Which sucks because I live so close to there.

Another garbage range shows their true colors. No surprise to me.

Nice to see you found the board. I am sorry to hear about your experience with Arizona. I actually havent been there since that day I met you and your son there. Personally I never liked the workers there and they are very over priced on everything but it is a good place to shoot considering the options. Well, welcome to the forum and happy shooting.
Yeah, sorry to hear that. Sounds like some of Palm Beach type rules are making its way down to Broward. Last time I shot there, I was interested in shooting the HKP30 on their rental wall, however they said I had to use their ammo. I seriously don't recall that "rule" a couple of years back when I rented a couple of compact guns for my wife to try out.

Reminds me of a place up here called Knight's Shooting. Nice build, all indoors, very good AC. But damn they shit on their customers, demand outrageous prices, and require that you buy their horded Walmart ammo at twice the price to use their rentals.
Tried to go there to check out a couple pieces and the 2 douche bags I met behind the counters did nothing but act like they are there to rape rookies that don't know what they want or know how much shit actually costs.
I need to win the lotto just so I can start a nice range that doesn't gouge. I could retire on a successful range business that treats the customers like customers instead of livestock.

And Jax's range would of course be equipment for automatic assault rifles and .50 cal sniper rifles. Right? :) :) :)

They started doing that once they noticed the ammo market and jumped on the fuck everyone wagon.
never been there.. and from the sound of this post.. I never will...

Same here...have a buddy that shoots there. Only place I really shoot now is Markham being that it is relatively close to my house, the distance and I just like shooting outside so much better.

I'd like to hear experiences at Markham. I was thinking about going there as I haven't been yet. I stopped there while ago while I was in the area on business but the range was closed that day. The manager was in and showed me the place and gave me some stuff to read. Is it a good place to go?
It's the only place to go for outdoor shooting locally. So you don't really have a choice to like it or not, you just go.

yh and it is the closest that goes out to 100 yds as well

until Trail Glades opens up again... :bolt:
Markham is okay. Dont bring a pistol because you will be wasting your time since the closest you can have the target there is 15yds. Much too far for pistol self defense practice. I suppose if you want to practice pistol long range shooting then it will work?
I'm in PBC so am planning to go to the long gun range here after the holidays. Pistols are not even allowed there but it is an outdoor range and they are few and far between around here. If I want to do the pistol thing I can pick from the other Broward ranges or go local.
