I would pick it up also if it were cheaper. I linked the wrong safe, I am looking at the fire rated one.

Yeah...safes aren't cheap. I like the fingerprint too, but I'm not too familiar with maintenance and whatnot....Battery life, what happens if the battery dies, other ways to access, etc.

Yeah, since I am not a gung ho elitist yet with a crazy collection I am not looking to spend tons of money but still allow room for editions to my personal collection.

Yeah...safes get expensive when you move too. It might even make more sense for us to get new ones when we move.

no kidding! what do you do when you move? especially if that beast is bolted to the floor?

i say you just make a hole in the wall and cover it back up using a spring door. along the lines of a hidden compartment. :D

that would be cool.

That seems to be my big problem as well. The delivery service doesn't help you bring it in the house?? What kind of cheap service is that???

We had our two safes transported from Naples to Coral Springs for $900. These are two giant safes too. They moved them in and leveled them for us.

I really like the pistol holsters on the door, thats a nice design element to save space. Not too bad. I need one with more space though :/

Cris

Yeah, I believe that is an upgrade option, most manufacturers have them by request.

I have a Canon Oxbow 23 safe. Cost was $699 delivered. It is now bolted to a concrete block wall and concrete floor. I also built a 1/2" plywood box around it because it is in my garage. From the out side you think it is only a cabinet. I only open it when the garage door is down, so no one knows it is there. I also keep a dehumidifier in it and have had no rust issues to date.

I got mine a couple of years ago @ a gunshow for $1,590 from Banks Safe & Lock Co. located in Ft. Laud. It's a 22 gun safe with a 60 min rating @ 1200*, high security electronic lock & a nice glossy black finish with gold accents.

I went to pick it up with my utility trailer and in order to move this 700lbs safe inside the house, I rented a $30 dolley in order to avoid paying the $200 delivery/installation fee. Something I thought of doing is going to "Wood You" (natural pine furniture store with reasonable prices) and find an armore that would be slightly bigger than the safe and hollow it out so you can just wrap the safe with it. The front Doors of the armore would need to be permenantly shut and once that's done then you could cut the entire front side, hinge it and put some magnetic latches at the other end.
Now you have safe that looks like a cabinet/armore.
