GLOCK 27
Backup Glock
Small, light, accurate and powerful:
The GLOCK 27 is the backup weapon for all
situations. Because of its comfortable dimensions
and the known advantages of the GLOCK pistol family
it is very popular by police on patrol duty, which is why
many law enforcement agencies issue this subcompact
.40 pistol also as an official backup pistol.

i had the 27...nice gun but wound up swaping it for a glock 23...found for a slightly larger frame, accuracy is much better

I like my 23.. but I'd definately take a 27 as a carry piece

I carry the 27, good size, easy to conceal, still reasonably accurate for a small frame.

I'm not a huge 1911 fan but that Colt looks like a cool piece.

i have the 27. overall, it is a great concealed carry gun. it is for arguements sake, the same size as the 26,33 and 36. i have owned a 33 and 36. the holsters i have fit all 3 of those perfectly. im guessing the 26 would fall into that category as well.

the pinky grip extension is almost required on the 27 but still a hell of a weapon

mine has the +2, the extended slide lock release and extended slide take down lever and a rubber pachmyr slip on grip.

I use one mag with the +1 or one normal mag depending how I'm carrying. without the +1 it's fine, just don't grip it like a little girl :)

I'm new here and I suppose that it's appropriate that it's in support of the nifty little Glock 27, one of my favorites. I like all sorts of handguns, but I always come back to my little Glock 27 for "practical" needs. It's just hard to beat!

Hey Greg! Welcome to the forum. We all just watched some of your videos on long distance shooting with the G27. Great stuff!

I used to carry a Glock 27, thought it was a little too bulky..now I carry a Kahr PM9...love that gun..tight shot groups, and its slim...great gun..

JaxChris

Does the PM9 have the violent snap that other slim and light 9's do?

Actually it doesn't..surprisingly. The only modification I have done to it was add a front night sight, and one of those AGrips...just cause I think polymer grips that come with guns suck..I get a really nice follow up shot when I practice controlled pairs with it..

The woman wanted a Kel-Tec PF9, so I got her one, and the snap on it makes it difficult to keep rounds on paper from 7 yards. I think I'm just going to get her an XD45 Compact like me because she can keep it all in the 9 ring from 10 yards all day long. At least then I'll only have one handgun caliber to focus on purchasing. Need to find her some carry options though to make that 3 lbs of loaded XD comfortable for her small frame.

I thought once that to carry a G26/27 where the way to go for CCW but after having both I decided to go back with a G23. A full grip and an extra inch in a barrel does make a difference when it counts. I also have a Crimson trace Laser. Well I would opt for the lasermax but I ll keep the Crimson trace for now ! The fact that I can go up to .357 Sig by just changing the barrel is not a bad or I can also go down to 9mm with a barrel and some mags... More options the better...

Well my Subcompact XD 40 with a crimson trace worked awesome for me. And I shoot it just fine.

Even though I'm a Glock hater I was really surprised on how good I shot with the G27 which was also a deciding factor between it and the HK P2000. Now that I own one, it's idiotic of me to express these same feelings so with that said, It is a crude but functional piece of hardware for me.

Keep in mind that everybody has a different take. I have a friend that will blow me out of the water in hadgun operations but he shoots the G27 like he's all thumbs and can't manage to sustain groups.

Big hands and small guns usually don't work well together. I would say that Shaq would have a hard time with a Desert Eagle.

Tell that to hickok45 on youtube. I have big hands too, but I shoot the XD sc fine. I think you just have to adjust your hands to controlling the grip more with the middle and ring finger. I think the pinky just messes your aim up on subcompacts with the Pearce extension. It's nice to have a spot to rest your pinky, but it certainly shouldn't become a mental focal point for pressure.
