Well i finally got to go try out my new toy. As i mentioned in another thread it is a Marlin 795 semi-auto .22lr Rifle. It is my first gun ever so i am quite excited. Went over to the range at Bass pro. I was a bit worried about not being able to shoot much since i was shooting Remington thunderbolt and a few winchester wildcats. I had heard so much negative feedback about the Thunderbolt but its all that i could find. Well first thing first was i couldnt get the damn lane to work right. But after some trial and error i got my target out and i started shooting.

I shot about 250 rounds today with only about 2 FTF with the thunderBolts and 1 with the Wildcats. The rifle is definitely accurate although i am not. my finger tips are sore from loading the magazine so i called it a day but man was it fun.

Cant wait to go back out and shoot some more. Now that i know that the thunderbolts shoot just fine for me, i will definitely pick up some more and might head out to markham park this weekend toughen up and shoot more then 250 round and forget about the fingers

thunderbolts in my experiance are fairly reliable however, what you DO need to worry about is lead fouling in the barrel.
Clean your gun with purpose when using that or any value priced 22 ammo. Lead fouling can cause accuracy issues as well as severe overpressures in the chamber.

I suggest you get a good flashlight or borelight and check your barrel regularly.

Not really an issue to clean as hoppes and many other solvents will release lead fairly well.
anyway just my 2 cents
