I think this pistol may be the new pocket pistol everyone crazes on and will keep 380 in stupid scarcity for even longer.
This one is a little thicker than the LCP or P3AT, but has 2 features not found in a 380 semi-auto pocket pistol before - 1 I hate and 1 I think will make it a "gotta have" for many people.
The part I hate - a manual thumb safety. I really don't see the point of this other than making some city/state laws happy. Here's hoping they make a model without.
The part I think will be the huge selling point (and high price cause) - an integrated touch activated laser, made by Insight. Think of it as a built-in Crimson Trace LaserGuard like you see offered for the LCP or P3AT.
Early reviews say the extra width of the Bodyguard is a big plus because it fills the hand better for all shooters. If these things happen to hit store shelves @ 400$ I think they will take over the pocket pistol market and I'll even convince the woman to change up to one.

Well I love my Sig P238 Equinox. But I will to see one of these at the shop before I make a decision on one.

i dont like the look at all
I likey... :prettyplease:
must resist
It's interesting to see how S&W reacts to the tides of the market. A little slow, but good to see they are still reacting unlike Colt.

I think my wife needs a new gun :bolt:

Interesting.
That is the nicest looking 380 I have seen yet
The integrated laser will be a big selling point on this firearm. Especially if rumors are true in the $400 range. Personally I see it being useless as it is a gut gun. I don't need a laser to find your gut.
the laser is a good point.... the looks, i dont like that...

I think the looks are just fine for what is crammed inside. The width will be most helpful around the grip so you can keep a firmer hold on the weapon compared to the thin LCP and P3AT.
The laser is there because CTC sells more LCP/P3AT LaserGuards than any other product, so apparently people like having the laser for panicked p&s aiming.
Even though S&W had that M&P reliability fiasco with the LAPD and other departments, I'd much rather give the woman a S&W than a Ruger (just personal preference here).
I still like the LCP for conceal purposes. Finally got some feedback on the Diamond Back .380 also. All good to go from what I have heard on them. Between full metal jacket and hollow points, no feed ramp issues and no failure to feed or extract. Basically looks like a baby Glock.

You're right, that DB380 is basically a Glock clone, other than the stainless trigger/mag release/pins. I'm surprised they haven't been sued based on marketing images alone instead of waiting for it to hit the market.
Ummm, where's the slide release? Rack to release only or is there an internal release upon mag insertion?
EDIT: And that grip angle looks all wrong for a natural POA.

I still think the LCP is crap, but thats just my opinion. I'll check this S&W or "diamond back" when it hits the shop.
I want to see how wide that grip is on the S&W and how long the trigger pull is, as long as its not as bad as the LCP it gets a thumbs up from me. I love S&W, well their revlolvers are awesome. Still waiting on my .44mag, as usual what ever I want is always on back order.

You're just a back order kind of girl.

No, RC just has unique tastes... which just happen to always be the same wants as 3.5 million other people at any given time. =)

Yeah, that sure sounds unique.

Well the unique one was the .475 Wildey, but Rich talked me out of it because he said the grip was huge. He told me to wait until I see one in person first to try it.
