So my wife got her first handgun today.

A bersa 380 with Crimson trace grips.

Nothing to fancy, simple to use and she really enjoyed shooting it today and was hitting the target (12 ounce beer cans) most of the time and when she missed it was barely. Hoping she will size up some eventually but she really likes it, she is comfortable with it and fairly accurate so the main points are covered.

I was going to get her a PPK, but I really didn't like the way the magizine release worked. It was right under the trigger guard and I could see somebody getting shot (likely me) so I figured this was a good option for her first handgun. Plus it has a laser so between simplicity and options i think everything it was a pretty good choice.

For the record she wasn't using the laser when she was shooting the cans.

Its better that she can shoot without the laser. I would never consider a .380 a target gun, but if she can shoot well with it, even better. Congrats, the best part is she is now able to protect herself and come home to you.

it does not matter which church he picks as long as he gets in touch with his spiritual side... we always keep a seat open for him at my church... :)

I would have preferred alot over Bersa, but it was her choice, and its what she liked the most and felt most comfortable with. After seeing her shoot it, I feel like she made the right choice as her accuracy was very good with it. Plus the upside is she is ready to go shoot it some more this evening so all around I'm tickled to death with it.

As long as the wife is happy thats all that matters, I am sure she will progress in the future.

I could have ragged the Bersa, but she has taken the right step forward to protecting herself. For that I commend her, you have to start some where.
