So a friend of mine just bought his AR15 at the last gun show. So he invited me along to try it out for the first time(I have amazing friends). I got to put 60 shots down range. Well first mistake was taking it to Bass pro shops range but we were short on time and it was the closest around. Next mistake was wearing those cheap yellow earplugs because they didnt help much and my ears are ringing as i type. we had to shoot from a shooting position and i found the bench to be way to high and obstructed my ability to shoot. Although it might have just been me. Also the fact that im left handed doesnt help with the benck. But all in all it felt good to shoot the AR and it definitely has me sold on getting an AR. Ill make sure to get better ear protection for the next time around

Yh they are a blast to shoot. I built mine shortly after I shot my buddies. Only place I really go to shoot it is Markham though

im trying to convince my friend to go to markham. Im sure it beats bass pro. Hopefully ill be able to build me an AR soon. We'll see. Too much wants and not enough money. And yeah us lefties seem to be unfit for the shooting world. Too bad though nothing is going to hold me back. although having hot brass hit me in the face and land on me is a turn off...must make sacrifices

I shot my tactical set up lefty and never had a hot casing hit me in the face. Maybe try pulling your face away from the ejection port. Catching hot casings in your teeth isn't that cool. LOL!!!

well not yet im just saying that would be a turn off. although i did have it land on my back but didnt get burned. But i will admit my shooting sucks with the AR. I need to learn how to properly shoot.

Lol I shoot left handed but have never shot a left handed gun. My AR throws the casings so far away that they come nowhere near my face. Have no problems with a bolt action or my lever action. if I had to shoot a left handed gun I would be lost.

Nothing near the face although my 22 did get close. im actually gonna pick up a left handed bolt action. Im actually going to try a normal bolt action first though to see if i can adjust to that since its easier to aquire

Anyone could have 2 AR's... they are cheaper than some of your pistols Lino. =)

And Stag is the only maker of true forged left-hand upper receivers. DPMS makes a couple style of left-hand upper but they don't have ejection port doors or anything... which means they would be range queens.

If you are interested in getting a lefty, make sure you are going to keep it forever. They are not easy to sell.
