went to the new Trail Glades today.. got there around 10:00 got right in but there were allot of people...and some cool guns

the new range is nice and clean, I tried to get some brass for Chris.. but the brass bugs would pick them up as you drop them... :yikes:

the benches are made of wood and the stools are short and heavy... the new pvc pipe in the ground numbered in you lane is used to put your target in place. no more looking around for the broken base plates and lining up in the lane next to you by mistake... the rifle is out to 100 yrds, you can shoot sitting, and standing 50 yrds to 100yrds only... the rifle side does not have brass catchers so I was raining brass on the guys to my right..

the pistol side is much better now, you have a nice large wooden bench with screens to keep the brass from flying on the guy next to you.. still the brass gypsies would sweep the area clean of my .45 brass..

I shot from the first line and put 30 rounds down range..

later moved it to 15yrds and cut the center out of the target... I LOVE the TRP !!!

the handgun range goes out to 50 yrd and has large berms, it is not friendly for the walking impaired...

the range now also has a part where you can shoot hand gun sitting down...

Thank you for posting pictures lino.

I now have something to look for this Wednesday. I have to sight in some rifles and see if I get a chance to try out my MKIII.

How were the R.M.s

Do you happen to know the limit on rifles and/or handguns.

BTW.. I almost forgot..

the RM's were easy going yet on top of the fools who keep trying to touch the guns when the line is not hot..

they use a recording that states the line is now hot you can go towards the yellow line and begin shooting.. but it would tell you it was hot and then right away it would tell you to fire what you have and step behind the red line.. the technology was not working properly..

no limit.. bring what you want ( this is Miami ) :)

It's truly a shame they don't allow controlled rapid fire or double tap but on the other hand I understand why they wouldn't do it.

Maybe if they can develop some sord of probation period where a shooter can prove him/herself of their competence with a firearm.

you can hear the rapid fire from the area to the left (the private range)

I might have double ( tripple) tapped a time or two :bolt:

Yeah that so called "Tactical Range" is to the left. They charge $50 an hour with a 2 hour minimum and you must have liability insurance.

the range is ok, but I need to be out somewhere and shoot at stuff, there has to be some legal spot to do this somewhere down here..

I would've thought Everglades National Park had a rifle range, like Ocala & Osceola National Parks, but they do not.

The mag wouldn't weigh all that much. ...unless you felt it necessary to fill it with ammunition.

With that kit, suppressor, and magazine you wouldn't have any recoil. You'd probably put every round on top of each other.

Don't tell me you wouldn't want that setup in the trunk and the 1911 on your hip. When SHTF you'd pop the trunk, bolt up, and get down to business. =)

LOL... yep as is the gun is over 3 pounds with an 8 round mag... that would probably add another 3 pounds in just ammo :rich:

It reminds me of a high point 9mm rifle. Of course this one looks way cooler and is probably a lot more sturdy.

BTW... I got back from Trail Glades a couple of hours ago and had a good time.
