I can say from experience, this could be true that you dont feel the knife..

I was at boaters world and picked up a gaf to buy it.. it slipped down right into my hand.. it went right through the skin betwen my thumb and my index finger.. I did not feel a thing, I felt the warm blood dripping but not the wound.. ( until the next day)

The human body is one hell of a thing! I've cut before and not felt a thing, so it's definately possible.

I have heard similar stories from Mardis Gras, and local festivals where people walk around and just randomly stick people. From the stories and reports most of them felt a small sting and thought nothing of it until they noticed the blood. Strange how a simple cut can hurt like hell when you know you did it, but something major feels like a sting or a bite when you don't know what happened.

Of course this is different and I doubt many could have has as much composure as this woman did after such a traumatic event (mugging) more less the stabbing which from the pic could have been a helluva lot worse
