What's a good .357 magnum revolver that could be more concealable than my XDm boomerang, but long or sturdy enough to not break your hand like Cris' little .357?
I was checking out the Taurus model 66B4. The 4 incher that holds 7 rounds of .357. What do you guys think of that?
I also read on some forums, as you read anywhere with a glock XD argument, that Taurus guns develope timing problems on the cylinder. Anyone have any experience with that or counters?

i haven't had any issues with my 7 shot taurus.
mine isn't an airlite, so it's plenty sturdy for a 2" barrel.

i have shot ChrisMia's revolver.. it is very smooth even when shooting 357.. I like it ..

I held a Ruger GP100 today. Wow, what a solid feeling gun. I have relatively big hands too, and that somewhat large hogue style grip felt real nice.
At this time it is not really practical for me to purchase one, but once I get my glock 27 for a full time carry piece, I might just have to pick one up so I can add a .357mag to my collection. Not completely without one right?

I own an older mdle 4" Taurus. ( ported) IMHO, it is a "FAIR" gun & I have only minor probs with it ( I use it in my NRA training classes.)
IMHO, I would spend the extra & get either a Ruger or a S&W.
1. I have carried S&Ws for over 40 years ( Mil.LEO CC, field ) & NEVER had any problems. My Mdle. 19 4" .357 mag. (VERY early 60s ) has seen a LOT of action, & still shoots EXCELLENT ( S&W has seen it on a couple of occasions to "check it out" ( timing ( think 1,000s of rounds)
BTW, I have NEVER been charged for their service
They come out of the "box" ready to shoot.
I currently CC a S&W 4" mdle 66 reg. CCs Very well ( I wear a KILT most of the time )
2. Ruger GP 100 would be my 2nd choice. Very rugged gun. the only down side is the trigger pull. IMHO you will need to get the Gun 'honed & a lighter spring ( use ONLY a compedent Gunsmith & DO NOT "lighten the spring TOO MUCH)
BTW I CC a SP 101
Just my 2 cents

Carry mostly while wearing a kilt? Hmm... that's impressive.
Ruger SP101 are a very impressive gun right out of the box. Great price point with a reputable manufacturer. I have shot several and love them untouched. We have been doing some trigger jobs on them in the shop lately along with filing the trigger itself seeing that it comes with pretty sharp edges from factory. I would highly recommend the SP101 for carry conceal, obviously it is no slouch in the wight department but a great shooter. (by the way, I enjoy shooting the S&W 340PD)

I'd love to see you shoot 3 clips of 357mag back to back at the range with that 340. If you did it, I'd buy lunch. lol

Done. It's easy up to that point, once you finish the third cylinder is where the timeouts need to begin.

lol. Amazing what taking off 20 oz. can do to felt recoil.

NO BIGGY. I wear a Kilt most of the time. & ALWAYS CC. I once in a while do a course on CC ( LEOs incl. females). As a fun part, we do a " Spot the gun" I show up Kilted, CCing Multi guns. Twords the end of the class, the "students are asked if they "spotted my "gun" They usually get a couple, but never all. LOL.
So as NOT to hi jack this post I will do a post on this in the CC section.

How did you remove 20 oz from the 340PD? It doesn't even weight that much. =)
Guess you're referring to the difference in weight from his former semi-auto EDC and how the light 340 vibrates and jumps violently in your hand? =)

I've got a 6" King Cobra that is easy on the hands.

Easy there, we don't want to hear about what you do after your wife goes to sleep.

I sure hope a 2.6lbs behemoth can keep its' nose down better than a little 0.75lbs ankle hugger. =)

I carry this S&W 686 in the cooler weather. It's nice and accurate. In the warmer weather I'll usually carry one of my Glock .45's

When it's time to make a lot of noise at the range my 2 Magnum Research BFR's do nicely. One in .45-70, and the other in .500 S&W Magnum. Bill T.

Ive been wondering how those behemoths shoot, whats your opinion?
^ you can almost rub the target with just the barrel on those two...
