a while back Rich had some "fear no evil" branded ammo. he test fired a round into water and it expands like crazy but stays in tact, pretty cool. he sound out of that ammo but at last year's SHOT show we found out it's really re-branded Federal ammo. I found it on their LE site, it's Tactical HST ammo, you can search Google and find it for sale. found a couple sites that were selling it for about $28 for 50 rounds, pretty good price. just FYI for anyone looking for that ammo, I use it for my carry guns.

I'm gonna try and get Rich to order some for the shop too.
on another note, found this while searching for something else, cool to see how different rounds expand.

Probably a dumb question but can I just a regular ol person buy this or is this specifically made for LEO?
I ask because today I went to a gun show today and they had some rounds marked for LEO only and even had some knives marked for LEO, Rescue and Paramedics only.

That's where I buy it from. LE ammo is sold in 50 round boxes, civilian version is sold in 20 round boxes.
And HST is my preferred protection ammo.
I still have some of the Fear No Evil's. There are some specially hidden .45 Fear No Evil's still in the shop.

there's no restriction on ammo, only armor piercing stuff and tracer rounds. I think the "LE only" is more marketing than anything. my Eotech says LE/Military on it but it's not restricted or any different than what the military has as far as I know. my SOG knife says LE/Military on it too and it's not restricted. you have to have a concealed to legally carry it but not to buy it.

ha ha, if we get some of this HST stuff then we won't have to hide the other stuff :) "fear no evil" sounds cooler though :D

Ooops sorry I have the SXZs. Believe it's a new line developed by Winchester in which they have a training (FMJ) and a JHP (personal defense) round that are suppose to behave exactly the same minus the expansion for the JHP. The idea was that the FMJ are cheaper for range practice and then the JHP is for the nightstand table lol but they would maintain the same velocity accuracy etc so there will be no difference in recoil, accuracy etc between training and when you need to use your pistol in a home defense situation.
The Golden Sabers I picked up instead were more expensive than the Winchester SXZs I currently have.
