View Full Version : Range day! Shot a Glock26 today....

.....And I'm getting the XD subcompact. Ick, I did not like that gun at all. I had some nice groups with my XDm. Then a guy in the lane next to me offered me to shoot his Glock 26, and I could not shoot that damn thing at all. All of my shots were very low. It's a great gun, but I am already trained on the XD grip angle and trigger.
This was my first target with the XDm at about 10 yards

And this was one of my later targets at about 20 yards and some at 25 yards. I actually started doing better when I put the target out further on this target. Most of the bad shots were up closer. It has stickers covering holes because I was sharing with a friend of mine. All the holes you see were one magazine of 19rnds fired by me.

Not bad considering I haven't shot in several months. Anyways, I definitely shoot XDs a lot better. I don't have a target of the Glock because it was the guys guns, but all the shots were extremely low.

Good choice to stay away from the Glock.

Love glocks, hate SA's and i hope you can run fast cuz you cant shoot worth a shit... J/K

Hey why all the hating? I thought I did pretty good. A lot of those shots on the black target were at 25 yards. I mean, I know there's guys that can bulls eye all day long at 25 yards, but if that were an assailant I was nailing the main chest cavity. These targets are small. I could barely see them at 25 yards.

I wouldn't say I hate Glock, but if I had a choice to get into a shooting with a Glock or XD I'd abuse the Glock and save my XD for better days.:raspberry:

People that bullseye targets take too long to aim outside of 5 yards. Just keep working on speed and staying on the paper like we talked about Matt. Ignore the teasing... these guys are just being like the old farts that sit there with a pistol rest and plink a 22 pistol all day to see how many they can stuff in the 10 ring if they take 10 secs per shot. In real life you'd already be dead if you waited that long.

I love my Glock 27 though... and I wouldn't worry about the pink shoot & see.....

Well let me commend you ! I got rid off three Glocks. I thought I was a bad shooter that shot with Glocks. Then I got an XDM and I thought is the match barrel, and the extra .5 inch longer made me better shooter so I did better than with my G19, then I did a little better with a G23 RTF. Finally I shoot my Glock 34, 5.23 in barrel, I thought I have everything. NAH ! I suck even more with a Glock 34 a Tactical Practical. Well so I sold all GLOCKS in a week, added a a XDM 3.8. Then I thought my armory was complete, till I got a XD Subcompact 3" barrel and I shoot better than any other handgun I owned with exception to a Sig 226 I shot once. I got my loaded Spikes on the side... all I need is ammo. My point is simple Springfield is doing a great job and people are liking the XD series of handguns.

You've got a Spike's AR and prefer XD's over everything else? Are we related?

Yup, and I intend to get a XD subcompact now as my main carry. Also did I mention the extra plasticyness, and wideness of the glock trigger felt kind of funny to me. Not just the fact is has a weird pull.
