Well it finally arrived. The ACR standard is now delivered to retailers. Too bad a 1400$ concept became a renamed and heavily licensed 2400$ rifle.

I like it... that is the weapon that resparked my interest in guns... without it we would not have the basement section, nor me as a member... :welcome1:

My biggest problem with the Masada has been the lack of customization available. You are pretty much buying a fixed packaged, similar to Sig and H&K weapons.

The SCAR did beat them to market and is actually getting military contracts... something the Masada failed to do because Magpul thought they should let Remington build the damn.

I think the ACR will be a footnote in the history of long rifles. They would need to make a compact carbine version (short handguard, short gas system, folding adjustable stock) that could be easily SBR'd and given either a shorter barrel or barrel cut down. But having these "editions" of the same product keeps the prices high because they are segmenting their manufacturing volumes.

+1 Jax
They FUBAR'd this design. I like the Magpul original better and of course the better price. What happen to the interchangeable barrells to be able to switch to 7.62?

Only on the .mil version will they have that feature if I remember.

I like the LMT quick change barrel design. Now if they would only make a 5.45 barrel/bolt combo. But who am I kidding... I'd never pay those prices, and I'm hooked up good with Spike's. =)

The Masada was a great design, but I'm not buying a Bushmaster ACR.

I knew the price would jump way up once they got it.. they would have lost sales all the rest of there over priced product line.

I'll go with the SCAR
