Thinking about this for my next pistol. I thought about going up to a .45 but I like the idea of staying with 9mm becuase of cost and having just one pistol round to reload/purchase for. I am confident I could stop someone with 19 rounds of 9mm lol

If I was going to get a full metal frame 9mm, I think I'd just get the Beretta....

Para has some nice guns, but in that price range I think I would have to lean toward other manufacturers.

Isn't there a Para 9mm in a compact size on consignment at the shop? I'm pretty sure someone had just put one up for sale just before I left for vaca. It's a nice gun, but for concealed purposes, in 9mm I'd lean more to a Kahr PM9.

I am not familiar with the Para 9s ( nor any other "brands, in that the 9mm is not personal my "choice" of a PP round. But I am familiar with the Para "1911" .45s. Quite a few of my fellow shooters own them & REALLY like them. I have shot a "few" & liked them. In fact, when I decided to get a 1911, the Para was the one I wanted & the SA was #2.

I opted for a "custom" SA ( from SA's shop ), primarily because of $$$ ( & I love it )

One ? , does the P18-9 have a amberdex. safety option ?? ( IMHO a very good option to have )

BTW, ( if capacity is a factor ) you might think their 10 S&W.

I wish I was down there so you could all shoot my XD-45 Compact. I think you would all buy one for your carry weapon after that. =)

Yeah it is nice. I can vouch for that. Very smooth shooting gun, and about the same size as the Glock 30. I'd get one, but my goal is to wear my normal sized T-shirts and conceal even when semi-active. That's why I am getting the much smaller XD 9mm sc.

I still like my SR9 when carrying. It is slimmer than both the XD SCs and the Glock SCs. Obviously it is longer as it's not a subcompact, but it conceals pretty easily. It's best to wear an undershirt though that you can tuck in because when you bend over the grip can be see sometimes, but then again I think that can be an issue when concealing a sc correct? Plus I get 18 rounds if necessary. So I'll keep that as carry. However I want to get another sidearm. I have been reluctant to carry everyday as if I leave home concealing the SR9 then as a result I have left no sidearms at home for my wife to use in case something happens. Getting another sidearm will allow me to start carrying more often. I love the 1911 as well as the Berettas. I want to stay with 9mm as I already have a 9mm and that will allow me to focus on just one caliber (yes I know people would prefer a .40 or .45 for hd though but I also think the 9mm is easier for my wife to handle and it also costs less money :) ) I think I am leaning towards a Beretta. C3PO how do u like your Px4? Also been looking at the 92FS and the 90two

Ha ha, I almost didn't get to this question. My PX-4 is in .40. I really liked the looks of the gun at first but when I took it to the range, I absolutely hated it as I needed to put the front sight blade on top of my target to even remotely get close to hitting it. The problem with that is that you can't see the target if your sight is covering it. It was soon on my get rid of this POS list. On a whim, I decided to order a set of trijicons for it and almost like karma, two of the gas tubes were duds. Trijicon replaced the sights and my sights are now balls on. I now love the gun and almost wish I kept the matching CX-4. It now is my wife's home defense gun.

A couple of observations: The gun is a little chunky in the slide and the ambi hammer drop lever ears stick out considerably. Despite the chunky slide, the frame is slender and the changable backstraps make it easy to adjust for different sized hands. A few people on the Beretta forum have had the same complaint with the front sights and from what I read, it's how Europeans like to have their sights set up. I think it's BS, as I have other Euro handguns that didn't have this problem. There still isn't a ton of holster options for it and the Storm pistol can't use the regular 92 type magazines which can be found everywhere.

You mean the XD-40 Subcompact? They only make the XD-9/40 in Tactical/Service/Subcompact. The XD-45 is offered in Tactical/Service/Compact.

If SA makes an XDm Compact (short grip, 4" barrel) I will jump on that because the slimmer profile of the slide looks like it would be even easier on the body and clothing than the blocky slide of the regular XD's. I still think the XDm 3.8's are a half baked idea by leaving that boomerang grip on there.

Based on the limited time I had checking out a 90two, it basically is the same gun as a 92 but that the designers at the Buck Rogers Art Institute got a hold of it and made it "modern". It has the adjustable wrap around grips that to me is the biggest improvement. The integrated rail cover is just plain gimicky. I'd go classic 92 if I had to chose between the two, but I'm old skool.
