I am lusting after that P226 Blackwater for quite some time... Rich has under the counter ! over 1K Iafter all is said and done... just need an extra boost to get it...
I was there the other day and the Elite Platinum jump on me too...
I being shooting my regular XDM in IDPA and I am doing great. I just want a side arm for carbine matches. I ordered and paid for a Sig P226 SCT where I can get LE pricing but is in back order so I got to wait. An extra boost get me extra money to run to Rich and get me the Blackwater.
Damn I am becoming an addict, I need to Rehab ! or maybe no rehab I need more guns! yes yes Guns money guns more more !!! LOL

just curious, do you still want the 226 sct even if you get the blackwater? what did the sct package come with?

Well the SCT has the high capacity mags 20+1, and it comes with 4 in total, it also comes with Tru-Glo up front and Sig night sights on the back, It also has serrations on the front of the slide.
The Blackwater Tactical has the same plus beaver tail frame, mag-wells grips and SRT trigger. I also believe it comes with a blackwood grip... MSRP $1300. I found one at $1000.00
However P226 9mm SCT I got ordered for $789 (LE pricing) The gun retails for around $1049.00, I can always add: SRT trigger 99.95, magwell grip $50.00 and still save money.
Now about adding a beaver tail frame ??? Do not know how much ...
The beaver tail frame comes with the Sig P226 Elite series and the new P226 Tactical Operations model which is due in June 2010 probably at about MSRP $1300 or more.
I heard rumors that the military are hating the M9 and thinking about getting to all Sig P226. SEALS already use them and are doing well with it. I think that the new designation will be M11 not 100% sure.
How ever if I get it in 40 S&W I can always add the Sig 357 barrel. 357 Sig P226 15+1 is a nice package...
I do not care much for the Backwater logo but is a discontinued series and it can be cool... perhaps collectible some day.
I think at my old age I am developing Obsessive Compulsive behavior ... cool ! I need drugs ...LOL

I'll support the sale by saying, I have an XDm, and they are awesome! When the 3.8 first came out, it seemed rather funny, but upon further inspection, when I first held one in my hands, it is actually a well proportioned gun. Very nice feel to it indeed.

It sounds like a great deal Tac Dad...
I don't mean to de-rail your thread but I would like to know if you have experienced the SRT package and if so, what is your opinion on it? Also, do you know if the parts can simply be purchased instead of sending the firearm in to SIG?
Do you also have any opinions on their Action Enhancement Package?
Thx.

Today I took the time to call someone at Sig today. I took the time to chat and discovered that I can purchase the elements for the SRT trigger, then have a local armorer put them in the gun. The Short reset trigger reduce the reset by 60%. Yes I tried the SRT and it feels awesome. I have not shot a bullet but the reset comes very quick so the travel distance to reset is shorter and supposedly it helps to shoot faster. My intentions with that gun is to shot IDPA and carbine transitions to handgun. So a heavier handgun can be actually beneficial.
The XDm with the match barrel make a wonderful handgun and probably has nothing to envy a Sig. INHO the Springfield Armory XDM series has taken some of the best attributes from Sig's, Glocks and put the together in a very ergonomic frame, with multiple straps and high capacity magazines.
All my three handguns are XD and all bitone, they are very good looking handguns still extremely reliable. Glock had to crown for a while when it comes to dependability but Springfield with the XD series are providing a very stable platform with multiples options of calibers and size.
I have taken the time to do some reading and researching handguns and XDM has nothing to envy to any Sig sauer, Colt, HK or Glock.
My biggest fear is to be confronted to discover that the XDm will out shoot a Sig Sauer. However personally I feel that a steel frame pistols have different properties as for the physics of shooting. I like the 1911 but I can not stand the fact that they are single stack and hold no more than 8-9 rounds. However the Sig P226 SRT holds 20+1 rounds on 9mm and 15+1 .40 S&W or .357 Sig. To me is the next step of evolution after the 1911 from WWI and WWII.
It makes sense to have a Sig besides I already got a XDm 4.5 and XD SC all in 9mm. So is OK to get rid off the XDm 3.8.
I just hope someone take advantage and get this XDm out of my hand. I am serious considering keeping it... The SCT is paid already... I just need an EoTech G23 FTS for my AR.

Thx. for your feedback Tac Dad..
Unfortunately I'm not in the market for another handgun and there are plans for the ones I have now. I love SIGs had them for almost all of my life and it would be very difficult for me to part from them.
This is a great deal and hopefully this piece will find itself a nice home.

Update Update ! The Sig P226 arrived last night so I needed to wait till it get into inventory and such.
Today I pickup the Sig Sauer P226 SCT (Super Capacity Tactical) Damm it was all new... Like a new baby is was moist with slippery oil and goo. It took a time to make sure all serial numbers match I finally paid $849.23 including taxes, FLL fee. As yesterday I chatted with people at Sig Sauer I came across a one week special... 3 mags, holster, mag carrier for $129.00. All factory 15 rounds magazines. Exactly what I need for IDPA. On IDPA you are limited on rounds you can carry. one mag with 11 and two with 10 rounds. However for USPSA the more the better.
So I am the proud owner of a Sig Sauer P226 SCT on 9mm. Pics and Video will come later.
