I'm briefly looking at some lighting options for my P226TAC and I was wondering if any of you have any experience with the 90 lumens upgrade of "NIGHT-OPS XIPHOS NT WEAPON MOUNTED LIGHT" (http://www.blackhawk.com/product/Night-Ops-Xiphos-NT-Weapon-Mounted-Light,503,40.htm) from Blackhawk.
I'm planing to acquire their SERPA holster systems which really cuts down my choices down since this system would accept this lighting system. There might also be a chance that another lighting system might fit their SERPA holster system.
What's your take on this?

I've been carrying the Xiphos tac light on my Glock 22 service weapon since the light came out. I'll tell you this..the light used to suck a lot..I have since then sent it back and they have re-wired it free of charge and no more hiccups since. I like the fact that it has a easy takedown lever, and IMHO the SERPA holster is one of the best holsters for cops on the market today (I think the safariland hood sucks horribly). I think if I could have any light, it would be between the Xiphos or the SureFire X300..that thing lights up a city block!

Thx. for your feedback BB.
Have you done the Lumens upgrade?
I'm trying to find a place locally where I can experience it in person but have not ran into it yet. I'm leaning towards it since the SERPA holster is made for it.

Yeah, I did the lumens upgrade when I sent it back to them for servicing. I didn't notice much change, but I did notice the consistency was a lot better..where do you live? You can try mine out if you can't find anywhere that has it..

So you think the x300 is among the best in compact lights?

Yeah, I would actually carry the SureFire over the Xiphos if they made a SERPA holster for it. The benefit of the Xiphos besides what I've already stated is the simplicity of the light control..its a tap instead of an up/down switch...

I live in Miami. Yeah, it would be cool if in one of the shooting outings arrange here we could meet.
