Ok so now I just got a third job, so I have a lil more cash to spend on my 22lr. I been looking at the 10/22 heard a lot of good things few bad. But now that I have more cash coming in I was looking at some of the GSG MP5 22's. If I get the 10/22 I can do all sorts of stuff to upgrade it, or I can get the GSG and have to do nothing with it. The price difference is around $200. Well what do you guys think?

Oh just found some website called gsg5rifle.com and they have a Sig 22 and a Smith & Wesson m&p15-22 both look way cooler and I'v heard of the company's so add those two in the mix vs the 10/22.

You'll find a few threads on each of these choices here in the .22 rimfire section. I personally started with the 10/22 over 20 years ago and it had gone through at least 4 prior transformations before its current set up. I also had an extensive project with a GSG-5PK not too long ago. The S&W M&P 15-22's are also very nice and I hear now come with threaded barrels.

So to answer your question, you really can't go wrong with any of them, but they are clearly in separate categories. The Ruger makes for a great rimfire target gun, the GSG is a niche plinker, and the M&P a plinker as well, but also a nice training gun that will help your skills towards an AR type platform.
