What ever happened to the Steyr aug?? It used to be very popular several years ago. Anyone have any experience with this weapon?? Good, bad??

i like it a lot...steyr is opening a factory here in the states and the aug's are suppose to be on the product line and US parts compliant. Rumor has it end of year but I dont believe the site has been updated yet. the MSAR (mircotech) has a clone of the aug for 1500.00 or so.. i they are not to bad as wll but nothing like a factory steyr aug

The last I recall, Guntech had a microtech MSAR STG 556 in stock as well as the hard to find 30 and 40 round mags (the rifle comes with a 20 rd). TPD AXR is another clone that has a nice twist in that it uses USGI AR style mags. A lot of folks upgrade the Steyr and the clones' trigger with the triggertamer. A friend has the MSAR and competes regularly in carbine matches with it.
