:tiphat:So for the longest time ive been searching for a S&W model 19.
Never being able to find the one I want has been a thorn in my side for more than a few years now.

So today while walking around at the local gun show I stumble across a mid 70's Dan Wesson 15-2 with a 4 inch barrel
The gun looks virtually unfired and was manufactured at the Monson Mass plant. If I had to guess, which is what it is a guess. Im thinkin around 1975 for date of manufacture give or take a few years but the serial puts it fairly low from what I can research.
Trigger is smooth as glass in double and single action.
Not liking the grips so Im shopping online right now but I think Ive satisfied my revolver itch.......for now

No cylinder wear and lock up is like new. Starting to really wonder if the gun was ever really used.

Its gonna get used now though! Taking her out tomorrow to run some 38 special and tune in the adjustable sights.

Ill post up a range report or a vid maybe

lol.....Im giddy like a school girl

Heres a few pics but they really dont do her any justice

Bad ass! When I got extra money to swing on a gun I don't absolutely need, I would eventually like to get an old revolver too.

I wonder if the barrel tool only comes with extra barrels? I worked on one at the shop back when you were still here Chris and I thought they were perfect revolvers for people who like to tinker.

from what I can find the guns were sold in pistol packs with multiple barrells the barrel tool and an extra grip, unfortunately the pistol packs are getting rare. I would most like never change the barrel length though if i wanted a longer barrel Id get a model 29......hint hint.......lol
Im on the way to the range with it here in a few

Funny... saw that "ooooops" and didn't know what it stood for, till the shot came...

You know you had a good day, when you can say that you've learn something new today.

"Dan & Wesson" is new for me.

How about a short, brief history on these?

Isn't that the company that was related to smith and wesson and had identical revolvers only their cylinders went the opposite direction?

IIRC, yes. Not sure if the cylinder spins like Colts, but I'm sure Chris can tell ya.
