Any opinions on the Gerber Gator Machette? Im looking for a Field Machette, was considering a GI, but cant find any that arent Chi-com knockoffs, flimsy and made of crap steel.
Theres "Cold steel", but just dont see one that grabs me.
The Gerber Gator seems to fit the bill. Anyone have one? Likes/Dislikes?

I dig the grip and sheath, looks to be pretty tough too.

Thanks gang!

I don't have one, but That looks pretty durable in comparison to some of the others I've came across.

I've always liked the Gerber handles. My first full size folding knife was a Gerber. Christmas present from my dad.

Okay, so I bought 3 of them, all they had in stock at the wholesaler, 11.78 each, 9 bux shipping UPS ground. I gave one each to my 2 best buds and Jeepin buddies, and kept the third. The handle is ergonomic to the Nth degree, the blade is sharp as hell, and the saw back cut a 2x4 in 42 seconds. Not bad. The blade is flimsy, in that you can flex it, but on a downstroke its lethal.
Im happy. The sheath is VERY nice too.
I put it in my Jeep where it will stay until needed.
