Looks liks Ruger want to compete with S&W a bit more. I am sure they will do it with a better price point. The did very well with the .38's. With the NRA naming it the gun of the year should also help.

THE EVOLUTION OF THE REVOLVER. The Ruger Lightweight Compact Revolver (LCR), a 13.5 ounce, small frame revolver with a smooth, easy-to-control trigger and highly manageable recoil. Packed with the latest technological advances and features required by today’s most demanding shooters.

The standard LCR has a pretty nice and smooth DAO trigger. Is the 1.5 oz savings with the S&W 340PD worth spending two bills or more on? Maybe. I easily notice the 2.5 oz difference between my LCP and the 340PD in my pocket. I do think that it will give the 340PD a serious run for the money tho. Competition is good.

What are the price differences on average from the Ruger and S&W? It looks like a nice competitor, but I'd have to shoot one to know for sure.

the price difference between the ruger and the 340 I would suspect would be fairly dramatic

MSRP I think was $575 on their site compared to $850 at GT.

I paid $430 OTD for my Ruger 357 LCR. Frequent buyer/send quite a bit of business to the place I got it though.

Kicks pretty good but I only shot it a few times, if I have to shoot it again... I won't feel it, you know how that goes.

I don't feel my 7mm STW when I kill deer with it, she's a beeyach at the range though.
