I just ordered some Hogue slip on grips for my P226, P228 & G27.

Don't know if I'm going to have a problem yet or not but I read that some complaint on the grips shifting. What is a solution from keeping the grips from shifting.

I've read that some have used a hair dryer to shrink the grip in place but I never had one of these before.

Use silicon to put it on, because it dries. I have actually blown them out after also with a air compressor. In most cases it does dry and set. The hair dryer is a good idea also.

I hope not to have an issue. If so then I guess I'll give the silicon & hair dryer trick a try.

Thx.

Plan on not using it for a day also, I think that is where most people fail with them. They don't give it time to dry.

Got them today and installed them. I did not use the silicone spray to slip them into place. It comes with instructions which takes a bit of an elbow grease and patience to slowly rub/push/pull into place.

I did use the hair dryer to warm it up a bit for easier stretching when installing it on the Glock 27's slightly larger grip.

Here they are without mags.

Here they are with standard mags.

Here's the Glock with the extended mag.

The Glock has a shorter and awkward magwell design so I trimmed the grip and used a dremel to kind of grind the rubber to shape.

They seem to be secured in place but I guess time will tell. They are not the most attractive looking handgrips but they sure are comfortable and for $5.16 a piece you can go wrong

Yeah the Glock sub-compacts are not the best for those grips.

While I was intalling it I was skeptical on how the end result was going to be. After I trimmed it I began to notice that it will be an ugly duckling but after all was done it felt really good in my hands. I shoot 180gr. out of this one and I strongly think that this set up will help greatly on keeping her under control.
I'm due for range time so I can't wait to try them out.

I know this thread is a little old, but I took a 4 day handgun course out at Front Sight in NV and I had a slipping problem with my Hogue grip, after repeated draws and reholsters it rotated slightly on the frame. I was about to throw it away and use grip tape, but after installing some 3M grip tape over the finger groves I decided to try the Hogue grip again and haven't had any slipping problems with it yet.

Just something to keep in mind if you have slipping problems later.

Thx. for the heads up JT.

I haven't had any issues as of yet but I also haven't stressed these grips as in your handgun course.

I'll keep your suggestion in mind,
Max
