It's a beautiful thing, however, it does underscore how easily it could have not worked out as the homeowner was tied up prior to getting a weapon. When you have to carry in your own house, the shit is bad.

When I finally become a homeowner I'd like to make, at least my front door, a lot harder to "kick in".

Yh plus one on that one. I just got a home and no asshat is kicking in my door anytime soon. By the time he does I will have had the chance to set up a bench rest to take aim and also get me some soda and popcorn lolol....He'd have a better chance trying to break in through a window lol

"likely" not face charges? What kind of bullshit is that? They need more pro-gun reporters in the local media to cover events like this. The damn journalist sounds disappointed this guy had a gun, used it, and isn't being sent to prison for 20 years to be a non-productive member of society.

You don't carry in the house now? I know I do.

I was thinking the same thing. Damn hippies.

I often set my gun on my computer desk next to me once I get home.

My gun is on me unless I'm changing clothes or going to bed. Sometimes if I'm lounging around the house all day and will mostly be in one spot (i.e. on the couch watching TV) then I will have it in between the cushions; easier to draw without standing up or rolling over first (depending on 3 o'clock or 4-5 o'clock position).

I need a new carry piece. That G30 is just too damn heavy and bulky. I hardly ever carry it anymore. I think I am going to pick up a G27

I liked shooting that G30 a lot! I can't chime in on having to carry it around all day though.

While I agree with Cris... I say plus one on the G27. My XDsc .40 is great. As I think I've said before, I wear it with a wife beater tucked over a crossbreed, and a regular size Large T-shirt. I am 6'0, 190lbs, so Large is a good snug fit for me and it doesn't really print enough to make out what it is. :) I just can't deal with T-shirts that hang down to your fucking knees and sleeves that come down to your elbows. I like properly fitted clothing, and that is the system I came up with for dealing with Florida summers. The tank prevents accidental showing if you raise your arms etc, and the T-shirt keeps you cool.

I'm so glad this guy wasted that savage...I tell everyone who gets robbed in my patrol area that's a decent citizen...buy a gun, take some lessons...blow em away, so their homies start the presses on R.I.P. t-shirts..these mopes out here don't learn..Dade county has simply given up on violent repeat offenders..so now people have to take matters into their own hands.

I need to try the wife beater/t-shirt combo with my crossbreed..I'm carrying a Kahr PM9, but I'm always nervous if I am bending over that I'm gonna print...and freak some old lady out..

2 shirts over is a common dress technique of all overweight people. It hides rolls and bulges well. This applies equally as well to carrying firearms. The first shirt blurs the imprint so that the top shirt doesn't show anything.

Just buy shirts based on length more than width and you'll be fine.

Cris

I try to buy shirts for width and length. One thing you have on your side Nick unlike a lot of us is that you are LE, throw that badge on your belt and if some old lady see's the gun she will also see the badge.

Yh I have started to the same thing as I'm afraid if I raise my arms or something someone will see my pistol. So I carry in a Crossbreed and then wear a light tshirt that I tuck in and then a normal sized t-shirt over that

I've never had a probably freaking people out. I'm a big guy also so that tends to be one of my issues as well. There was this time in Walmart though. I had this lady keep eying me and then "accidently" bump into me and I had to ask her what the problem was. she bumped my gun and had this look of fear on her face, but nothing came of it.

Holy shit that reminds me, I was at the Wal-mart that Jax goes to waiting for this one guy to do a gun trade at a shooting range down the road, and this worker lady came up behind me and like tickled my sides. I think she thought I was someone else, but she missed my gun by about an inch, and then realized it wasn't who she thought it was and walked off.

Ha.

My issue with the G30 is not printing, its the fact that loaded its an anchor. What a heavy pistol that is to carry. I really need something smaller and lighter. As soon as my Mustang project is done, I am going shopping.

I was fondling a Para 45 - 12 the other day and while it was light with it's alloy frame, loaded it was going to weigh as an anchor. I suppose .45 ACP plus firepower is always going to make for a heavy gun.

I'm huge so the weight never affected me I guess.

Interesting topics after the fact. 1st, what is that "will likely not face charges" ridiculous! 2nd the P238 has worked out great for me, toss it in the pocket and go (thanks again Cris) great for the hot summer months. For winter however gonna look into something with more stopping power to carry, most likely in 40 cal. Gonna check out these crossbreeds everyone keeps talking about. I do have a Para Ord 45 compact that is not all that heavy, might try an inside waistband for and see how she carries.

HELL YEAH!!!

My idiot roommate and her dipshit brother just seem to be too fucking stooopid to throw the deadbolt at the house.!!

Thinking it is time to bite the bullet and just get my own spot!
