Ok, as some of you know from my post, I have a Rock River Tactical Entry AR15 carbine. I want to get a scope I can use for longer distance shots. I'm kind of looking for a combat set up. So I think I want to have my iron sights set up for like 100 yards and then have a scope of some sort for longer shots, but nothing to big.

It doesn't have to be a red dot EOTech or anything. Just a nice scope for the AR15 carbine. I like the magnified EOTechs but they're so expensive.

look at he Millett DMS-1
that might be kinda what your looking for, or do you want a traditional cross hair type scope

its a 1-4x with a neat little doughnut illuminated reticle. gives you some magnification but still is useful as a tactical scope

Heres my tactical with the millett mounted on a pro mag mount

Well I don't know. Is that sort of thing necessary? I am no gun expert yet. Do the illuminated circles and stuff give you better visualization?

I just found some one talking about this one on a forum. I like that cross hair on it. Know anything about this one?

ive seen it, what actualy made me seek out the millett. same exact scope, more than likely made by the same parent manufacturer. Different reticle, a good one too.
In the past GRSC has had availability issues

i think i could get by with a traditional crosshair, but a decent one. Im not to fond of having to rely on batteries or electric things.

for a traditional scope I would probably recommend a Nikon pro-staff which is well below your budget cieling and great glass for the money

Yeah those look nice, I was just checking them out. Kind of big but nice. How do you mount them to be ablet o use the iron sights too?

a traditional scope will make using your irons basically impossible, even the first optic I spoke about makes using your rear BUIS a pain. If you want to cowitness you limited to the combat optics
EOtech
Aimpoint
Trijicon

I have my optic on my tac. gun mounted with a quick release mount so if it failed I just dump it and go to my irons.

honestly I would probably get an aimpoint or EOtech and run like that for awhile and eventually get a magnifyer later on down the road or even a knock off magnifyer

Hmm, perhaps. I wll have to consider these things. I guess if I needed a big Pro-staff scope I would have just built an m16, but I kind of wanted a more compact tactical combat gun.

All and all this gun project started as a "buy it up before Obama gets into office" and "have a gun thats capable of a combat situation should this world ever get to far out of control." Call me crazy, but at least I'm ready for anything lol.
