Certain gun related sites are blocked due to websense for me. Is this the threaded barrel? I think Chris wanted to sell his for a threaded one.

I saw a threaded one at the WPB Gun Show this past weekend and I was so tempted but I remained strong.....

Let us know what you think about the Fajen stock. I've never had a chance to handle one.

Looking good. It was cheap to shoot, until you bought all those parts. I like the fluted barrel for sure.

Still cheap...$600 (roughly) for all those parts, $225 for the gun stock....500 rnds $12.

One the other hand, 250 rnds of 45 is like $90 right now....that'll add up quick the way I go through ammo.

hey dave,

i'm curious as to why you went with the action kit. was that mod simply for a better trigger pull?
also, what did the new extended spring do for the rifle?

just trying to understand the reasons for your mods. i'm really interested in building one of these for myself.

thanks.

the action kit cleans up the trigger
the 10/22 has a heavy pull with alot of creep. not condusive with precision shooting
the kit also included an automatic bolt release which deals with another flaw in the design of the 10/22
it also came with an extended magazine releases. the stock version is terribly short and is nearly impoosible to use
the extended bolt handle(if thats what you were referring to is to ease the charging of the gun, just a nice feature to have

Very helpful thread.

I'm planning on doing a 10/22 build for precision.
This mod list with explanations helped.

Just curious what you think of the Volquartsen barrels like this one in comparison.

Pro's - Con's....
They are slightly pricier .....wasn't sure if they would be worth it over the barrel you chose.

What's the best distance you think you can shoot this build up to while keeping good grouping??

Those are nice lookin' barrels. I'm sure they'll work great.

Chris were working on 100yrd accuracy. If you dial in the scope, 100yrds should be easily achievable. I don't think you'll get much more out of a 22, but it would be fun to try. :D

Bad ass build. I cant wait to see the end result. I am a big fan of the 10/22. Perhaps some day I will build one too. Right now I have a Walther P22 pistol and a Browning .22 that my dad gave me on my 9th birthday. I still fire both. As a matter of fact I was at the range tonight and put about 300rds through the Walther. I wish someone made some "hop up" parts for the Walther.

The 10/22 is a great platform. Please post build pics.

I'm a big fan of 22. I like to shoot...a lot, so it's much easier on the wallet. Besides, 22 is just fun to shoot. We've got a Buckmark. It's one of my favorite guns. The 10/22 I built is badass. I never would have thought a 22 would be so accurate at 100 yrds, especially with bulk ammo.

Here's one better...time lapse video of the actual build...

Nice set up Dave! This is exactly what I'm looking at doing, except with some different pieces.

Did you get a chance to shoot the 10/22 before all the mods? How necessary is the action
parts kit?

Thanks Spikes, and I will be very careful Chris.I took off for a couple of weeks of R&R.I picked up my 10/22 on the 18th,checked it out real quick and it's been waiting in the closet patiently.
