It had been a while since I thought about my license expiring...it expires in the next few days and I never received any renewal paperwork. I just got off the phone with them and the lady tells me that I must have moved since the paperwork was returned as undeliverable - I said nope...been living in the same place. She basically gave the attitude of "yeah right", I asked her...the address that is nicely printed on my permit? She says yes...I then advised her that I still live there...
Too make a short story long...they will re-send the paperwork out tomorrow and I will have to pay an extra $15 since it will now be a late renewal.
Whew...I feel better.
Last I heard even with renewals they are being delayed about a month. One of the guys that comes in to my job just renewed his last night, or mailed out to renew it I should say.

There is a mad rush now...while waiting on hold they even state that wait times are up to 15 or 20 minutes due to the mad rush (not quite the wording, but essentially what they meant).

a month delayed? shit, try 6 months behind in Tennessee. the Atty. Gen. found out that the employees in the handgun permit office were not running background checks on renewals and that stirred up the hornets nest. convicted felons running around with gun permits. its fucked the entire TN system up. they are saying if you have a renewal coming up, you better give it at least 6 months leeway.
thank god i got a little more than 2 years left on mine. another thing that pisses me off is TN does 5 year drivers licenses, yet the gun permit is for 4 years. how retarted. gun permits also expire from when they are issued, not on our birthdays like all DLs are. TN is also screwed up in the way that our auto registration is not based upon owners birthdays. TN has got to be one of the worst states for expired license plates. it makes sense, if the DLs and passports and all that other garbage expires on your birthday, why not make the damn car tags the same way? that way you know hey my birthday is next week. DOH!!!! i need tags for the car..........................
stupid is as stupid does i guess.

The correct term is Hillbilly. I live there in TN for 2 yrs and just move back. God created a beautiful place such as the hills of TN but he sure messed up when he infested it with a certain breed of "yall aint from round here Hillbillies"
