Just saw this article on Yahoo about the mad rush to stock up on firearms and ammo...
http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20081107/ap_on_re_us/obama_gun_sales
I'm getting my stuff by next week! I'm not taking a chance, damn it. Ugh!
FYI
Yup...they've been reporting increases in sales. I don't know...we're gonna put away some ammo, but I think we're pretty good on guns for now.
People are so stupid going into this panic. All it does is raise prices. Nothing is going to happen right away nor will it probably happen.

while Obama might try something, the only thing he can do is re-impose the assualt weapons ban. people forget that gun rights are handled on the state level, despite talks a year or so ago to go with a national drivers license and gun permit.
it would take a while to overturn the gun laws state by state, TN GA Fla Virginia New Hampshire and texas have good gun laws. TN lacks in several places as far as the advantages allowed to the legally armed citizen, but at any rate, gun laws and rights are a state issue, not federal.

I believe the AWB was federal. It applied everywhere. Carry laws are state, but who knows what this guy might try and do.
During the period in which the AWB was in effect, it was illegal to manufacture any firearm that met the law's definition of an "assault weapon" or "large capacity ammunition feeding device", except for export or for sale to a government or law enforcement agency. Possession of illegally imported or manufactured firearms was outlawed as well, but the law did not ban the possession or sale of pre-existing "assault weapons" or previously factory standard magazines which had been legally redefined as "large capacity ammunition feeding devices". This provision for "pre-ban" weapons created a higher price point in the market for such items, which lasted until the ban's sunset.

He won't try anything the first few years just so he has a chance at re-election. That's when he will do his worst.

You all are funny! hehe. I'm not taking any chances. I'm stocking UP. SC is pretty good on gun laws too. We can actually shoot a fleeing suspect if they were a danger to others... and gotta love that Castle Doctrine. And we can protect others in trouble, not just for ourselves. I think that's pretty awesome. See, I knew there was SOME reason I moved from party city Miami Beach to the Carolinas. AHAHAHA
Where it gets tricky is going from SC to NC... bastards. And I'm right on the state line. I'm still not sure what is what as far as what is allowed with a CWP. Gotta go ask a police officer cause I don't want any problems when I go to mountains or do shopping just down the street, lol.
GOT MY NEW SHOTGUN!!! YAY. Gonna post pics shortly :) Thanks for the reminder Adam!
