Brand new Ruger 10/22 needs a scope

So I can pick it up on this tuesday after my 10 day waiting period, stupid veterans day. Anyway, I want to put a scope on it but I'm not sure what I'm looking for. I figure since the longest range around me is 100 yards that I don't need a scope to handle anything more then that. I would like to be accurate at that distance though.

Anyone have any recommendation? Also, I'm not interested in spending more on a scope then I spent on the gun itself.

I put this one on mine. I'm very happy with it! $120 and came with a nice little bore sighter kit. Don't pay much attention to the pic though, it looks like the $50 one below.

If you want to go cheaper, Chris and I each picked up one of these. They're only $50 cause they're "factory blemished", but I didn't see anything wrong with either of them.

The glass is clear on both of them, they both have illuminated Mil-Dot reticles, they both have great magnification, and they're both pretty inexpensive.

I'd also highly recommend getting the Volquartsen trigger kit. It makes an unbelievable difference. If you upgrade one thing on the rifle, this is it. $138 and worth every penny! It also comes with an extended mag release.

The magnification is too low to be really accurate at 100yrds+ IMO.

i perfer millett but your choices are endless. if your not a brand whore you should easliy be able to get into a scope for around 100 bucks
