Overall I was pleased with the GSG-5. I found that the gun is VERY ammo specific. I brought 3 kinds of ammo with me
1) CCI .22 stinger
2) Federal .22 Lightning
3) Federal Bulk .22 (550 rnd carton)
The GSG did not like the Stinger ammo at all as it would chamber and fire the first round and then fail to chamber the second. I quickly realized this was no going to work so i moved on the the Federal Lightning. The gun cycled this pretty well at what i would say was an 85% fire rate. I had a few rounds that had good primer strikes and the round did not ignite. I guess nature of the beast with .22 and I blame he ammo not the gun. The last was the federal bulk and the gsg chewed every round with zero failures. Glad that is the ammo i have 2000 rounds of. Once I found the right ammo combo, the gun was dead on point, accurate and fun to shoot. I will need to do more ammo testing as well as it was the first 100 rounds or so. Once i hit 500 as i use 500 as breakin for all new guns, I will give another report. Below is a pic of cmagz on the gsg as well as my range booth....shoot on!
