View Full Version : sights on an XDSC
whats involved in swapping out the sights with night sights?
It's one of the toughest sights to remove from the gun. Guntech can usually do it for you if you leave the gun there overnight or two. Rich usually has an inventory of sights to chose from. Unfortunately, if you need it now, his shop is closed for the holiday and won't reopen until Dec 2nd. I'm sure it is going to be absolutely nuts there the day they get back too.
is there one type or brand superior to another... which is rated best
Personal taste really. Some like the fiber optic of the Hi Viz, some like the trijicon nite sights, and then there's Zone 3 that are trijicons that are remarketed by Zone 3 and are actually cheaper. Rich has some others, but those are the main ones that he sells.
Tru Glow sights FTW!!! I find they are much brighter than the Trijicon's which even in the day time allow you to acquire your target much faster.
As Phil stated they are a bitch to do. I have done several sets myself, it seems if the originals have been on there for a while and the firearm has been fired a lot it will be much harder to get off. Then the new sights have to be matched by filing them down to match the slide. Not much fun, but a definite to have on a carry piece.

Tru Glo works for me, and definitely was some work getting them on. But I'm happy with them over all, can see them in the dead of night clear as day
