i tried to do a gallery pic of the month which would have a firearm in it but everyone blew it off.

HMMMMMM

Maybe Guntech would offer up a new inventory addition each month for review? But I wouldn't blame them for not allowing range time.

There is probably on average one "new" weapon that hadn't come across the counters before once a month. This month alone, we received a .380 from Diamondback that is best described as a mini Glock in 380. We also received a Sig 522 yesterday that is remarkably stout yet affordable compared to the AR 22's that has come across lately. Obviously range time is not an option unless one of us buys the gun. :lino: hint hint. Definitely a good idea tho.

Cris

Don't forget the Sig238 finally getting released to the dealers also.

Just for Lino, there is a new Taurus that came out also. Frame size comparable to the PPS, a single stack 9mm. With a tragedy for a trigger. In the long run, a pice of shit, Lino will love it.

Adam, I am not a Sig rifle fan, so I didn't really bother looking at it.

I think C3PO & Cris can swing the photo shoots and reviews. (Cris does photos and C3PO does reviews - because Cris does hate everything) So roll with my idea and pay me my royalties. =)

make this an infomercial for Guntech.. shoot some footage

Wearing only the apron and trying to give out free hugs. Only person in line would be Cris though.

You all know me so well. Yes I hate most everything. I'm not sure what S&B you are shooting Matt, because that stuff is far cleaner than that Winchester white box you are shooting.

Satan_3pc
11-30-2009, 10:06 AM
The S&B I got had a friggin red marks across the primer(looks like a sharpie mark) that burned onto that back plate the firing pin comes out of. I had to scrub it with a brass wire brush for like 5 minutes to get it off.

eff that shit.

Cris
11-30-2009, 10:36 AM
LOL, I never had the problem. Again it is much cleaner than Winchester White Box. Maybe you need to look into a better solvent cleaner also.

ss1
11-30-2009, 11:26 AM
The red stuff is a primer seal that prevents moisture from contaminating and also aids in preventing the primer from popping out of the case. IMHO, they are very good quality ammunition.

Cris
11-30-2009, 02:51 PM
There is your problem already. You don't clean a gun with oil.

Get some Hoppes 9.

Satan_3pc
11-30-2009, 06:42 PM
You do if it's a CLP.

Cris
11-30-2009, 06:51 PM
I think you still need to get a solvent cleaner.

ss1
11-30-2009, 07:22 PM
I use a CLP for "field" lubrication and cleaning, but I still need to use a copper solvent as well when it get's home. I just never had the dye stain the boltface/breechface before.

Satan_3pc
11-30-2009, 08:54 PM
That stuff I linked is all I use and I haven't had a problem. I usually put some in the bore and set it aside while I clean, scrub, wipe down, all the other parts several times until black shit stops coming off. Then I re-lube up the parts, and I clean the bore.

A car engine is a little more complicated than a gun and it only cleans itself with the oil that lubricates it. And that's something you need to get to work and live your day to day life.

been reading allot lately about the XD having rust issues... no rust on my 23 yr old Taurus.. :bolt:

Cris
12-01-2009, 12:32 PM
Any gun will rust. That is the owners fault.

lino
12-01-2009, 12:33 PM
Any gun will rust. That is the owners fault.

I would think so as well.. but you got to see the thread after thread on the XD site about rust...

Cris
12-01-2009, 12:35 PM
Again, that is the owners fault, they can buy a water pistol if they don't want to maintain their firearm.

Secpro
12-01-2009, 12:51 PM
I've shot my guns in pouring rain and I've also carried in the rain without any rust issues. Owners need to maintain there guns is what it sounds like.

JaxChris

Definitely wouldn't mess with Cris when he's got that jock itch going on, makes him even angrier.

And SecPro, you are one to talk in this thread.

Btw, I would say that Glock & XD are both vulnerable to a bad Tenifer/Melonite job being done during manufacturing. This is about the only thing I can think of that would lead to well maintained firearms rusting.

But if the QPQ is done correctly, it's going to take a very long time to rust that barrel.

Many people use CLP sprays and don't properly wipe down everything inside the trigger action because they only field strip the gun when cleaning. If you only field strip, I think you should avoid spraying inside the action and just use a wet patch to wipe down.

I've never done a detailed strip on my pistol :(
