Scum like this are running rampant in South Florida. Makes me rethink only carrying 5 rounds in the 360.

Delray Beach Four people were shot at what police described as a "takeover style robbery" at a Dunkin Doughnuts Wednesday night.
In a surveillance video recovered by police, four men dressed in black wearing masks, are seen entering the Dunkin Donuts at 4800 West Atlantic Avenue at 10:22 p.m.
Two men jumped the counter as employees ran to the back of the store. Two other robbers ordered a group of senior citizens to the ground.
"They are going through everyone's pockets," said Delray Beach Police spokesman Jeff Messer. "The victims were doing everything they were told to do."
Police said that two of the robbers were carrying handguns and another had a shotgun. After the men rifled through the costumers pockets and cleaned out the cash register, the man begin to flee.
In the video, the robber carrying the shotgun is seen shooting a man in the face at close range. Then he shoots another.
"They started randomly shooting people who were compliant," Messer said. "This is a senseless crime." Investigators said that as the robbers fled the store, a man driving a white Chevy Lumina on Whatley Road flashed his high beams at the men, who were running in front of him. One of the robbers fired at the car, hitting the man in the face through the windshield of his car.
A fourth victim later showed up at the Veterans Administration Hospital in West Palm Beach with what police described as a gunshot pellet wound to his leg.
Police did not release the identity of the victims. Two of the victims were taken to Delray Medical Center and are expected to recover from their wounds.
It's unclear how much money the men fled with.
"It couldn't have been more than a couple hundred dollars," Messer said.
It's also unclear what kind of ammunition the robbers had for the shot gun used in the shootings.
Police said the robbers are dangerous. Messer said they shot innocent victims who could not have identified any of them since they were all wearing masks.
"To have this happened on Thanksgiving eve adds to the sadness of it," Messer said. "The act itself is so heinous."
They are offering a $5,000 reward to anyone with information that could lead to an arrest, in addition to the $1,000 reward offered by Crime Stoppers.
"Somebody knows who did this," Messer said. "The community is at risk with these guys out there." Anyone with information should call the Delray Police Department at 561-243-7800 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-458-8477.

Hence the reason I always carry multiple hi-cap mags with my Glock. The old saying of "if you can't hit the guy with blah, blah, blah" just doesn't hold up anymore. With the economy being as it is, more and more scumbags are patrolling the streets looking for that moment of opportunity (at least in their book it is). Just one of the reasons I got the hell out of South Florida. Not to say crime won't happen, because it does happen all over. There are just more assholes in Florida.

Chris, I completely agree! I drive a 1998 Ford Ranger. Now granted I carry a full commercial policy from when I worked for DirecTv. I am paying just a nose hair over 1600 a year to insure a 10 yr old truck. I asked about switching to a regular policy, and it would have saved my about 200 bucks!:jerkit:
Meanwhile a friend of mine, who moved to Flagstaff about a year ago is paying 600 a year.

Between the outrageous prices of everything, crime, overcrowding.....
Buddy of mine sold his house just before everything went belly up, and moved to Tennessee. Made out like a bandit!
Girlfriend has till 10/21/2009 (my 43rd birthday) to figure out what she wants..if not...wagons west!!!

CO is awesome! I love it out there. I just don't know if I'd want to live there. Plus it's a really big move to go all the way west.

It's a big move anywhere. The question I keep asking myself is what is my mental sanity worth? My buddy who moved to Flagstaff calls me almost every weekend when he's out four-wheelin,or mountain climbing, or doing the multitude of outdoor activities that are a 30 minute walk, or 10 minute drive. Flagstaff has a population of approximately 60K, add in the surrounding areas you're looking at 100k people....200 at the most.
Dade,Broward and Palm Beach counties total almost 6 million.
People are just frendlier out west.

I was a sold boat away from moving to Eugene,Oregon. Yes it rains a lot, but it really is one of my top three most beautiful states, and I've seen all but Alaska, and Hawaii.
Unfortunately I couldn't sell the Dusky (damn economy), and have since broken up with the girlfriend out in Eugene...she's now married!
My problem is the current girlfriend. We dated almost two years ago. She broke things off with me saying she needed to find herself, it was her not me (sound familiar, guys?):jerkit::jerkit:.
Well she didn't walk back to her ex, she RAN! They were back together, by my estimates immediately after her and I broke up.
9 months later............is there a baby smilie?
Well now that baby daddy is a door knob, she wants to start dating again. She's 32, BD is 52....oh and married!!!
Meanwhile my buddy in Flagstaff is telling me how normal the women are out there.....

Hmm ... I am from NY , am respectful of others .. mind my own biz , can I be an asshole ..if I am pushed to it by some dickcheese wanna be toughguy . Dont group all together .
I work at a Local Hospital and when dealing with those who are on medicaide and have no job of record , it seems most come from South florida.. Not NY or the Northeast. Those that do generally come into the ER , have jobs and even if they dont have insurance make sure they deal with the folks who arrange for payment in registration.
I also deal with many folks of carribean decent .. Many work more then 1 job, their kids are respectful and surpise they have insurance.. ( then again I do see many who abuse the system too..)
my point is do not blame South Floridas problems on the changing demographics or singled out groups.. it has been fucked by many and I predict will get better again down the road.

I carry all the time because of asswipes like these guys , when I drive home after shift , I keep my gun in my cup holder in the center console as I see way to many jerks on the roads ..
Wierd connection to these guys .. I was at work last week the day they arrested the 2nd group and one of my coworkers was running in and out of the Er on her cell crying.. well it turns out that one of the dirtballs is her oldest son. Now this is a hrd working woman who works 2 full time jobs to raise her kids (the youngers ones all get good grades and dont miss school) But she is destroyed at what her oldest has done..
Aw, come on. With the weather we've been having lately, how can you not want to live here? This is still one of the most gun friendly states.

I agree with Phil , great weather and it being the Gunshine state .. coming from NY where it is extremly hard to be able to CCW and now even own Hi cap mags , makes me happier I made the move here in 99 ..

I kid you not! Some of the stupid laws are just relegated to SE Florida where the "other" mindset has taken over power regarding waiting periods, etc. Other than that, there's not a lot where we may suck compared to some other states regarding weapons laws:
no open carry except in certain hunting or fishing situations
ban of certain ammo types (fletchettes, etc)
ban on certain knives
waiting period
We have a version of the castle doctrine, we have a shall issue CCW State, we have no State imposed AWB, and no added regulation regarding NFA items. I think the only state that is any more friendlier is Vermont and maybe Alaska in some aspects. I think we have the most amount of states with CCW reciprocity than any other CCW State.
As far as weapon laws go yes it is a good state. I still wouldn't consider this a friendly state.

Thats why I carry 24/7 as well. Either on duty with my sidearm or off duty with whatever the "Flavor of the day" is. I will not be a victim, ever.
Although Its possible I may go out in a blaze of gunfire, I'll have went down fighting.

Well it finally happened.
I was robbed today!
Sitting here in Waco, TX, loading turkeys tomorrow. Decided to go outside to shut the refrigerator off on the big truck so as to not drain the batteries.
Cell is on the charger, so I walk downstairs to the truck. Put the key in, and open the drivers door, and there is a guy of african decent standing in my truck with all my stuff in a pillow case ready to walk out!!
I politely asked him who the fuck he was, and what the fuck he was doing in my truck. He dropped the bag, and calmly went out the passenger door and into his car, and drove away. As I was following him across the parking lot he reached into his jacket like he was reaching for something, so I walked back toward the truck!

i think i've said it before, with the economy in the dumps, stories of home robbery will only be more common.
people do desperate things in desperate times.
