Im planning on getting a puppy,
i dont know if youve ever seen the pics of our other dogs but we have the experiance to train them.
I will most likely end up using someone local for the intensive portions
http://www.schutzhund-training.com/
these dogs are relatively low energy so Im not looking to create an attack dog by any stretch just well disciplined.
A 180 pound dog doesnt need to attack usually just the sight of one is enough to quell a threat.
They are great dogs that I have put alooooooooot of research into. Great family dog with strong yet controllable protection urges.
Glad I got a raise, im gonna need it for food....lol
They look cool to me!
We're not turning Sammi into an "attack" dog, just a guard/protection dog trained to bite if necessary. She's very protective as it is, so she's gonna do awesome with this. I couldn't believe how well she took to it today.

what are you doing to the dog to make her so pissed off?
The trainer, Mike Clark (http://championdogtraining.com), just put a hat on and started walking around and sneaking up on her...hissing and making suspicious movements. Then he'd come at her with the bite pillow and fight with her for a few secs, then drop it and run off.
Mike is awesome! We couldn't be happier with the training, and we'd highly recommend him to anyone. He used to train all the BSO dogs, and a shitload of other dept's dogs down here, and also won the USPCA National Championship twice! Really nice guy too!
Are both dogs being trained like this or just her?
Just her...Tex is old (7 yrs). He's not very protective either...doesn't even bark at the door.

Shouldn't this be in "why I carry all the time" post?
Maybe it should be in the "What are you carrying?" thread. :D
Or what's next to the bed while your sleeping.
