View Full Version : TruGlo Night Sights
I personally use these sights on my Springfield XD9SC. They glow real nice at night and also help to acquire your target during the day much faster.
TFO gun sights use the same proven technology as our TFO archery pins. These sights are the most revolutionary innovation since TRUGLO, Inc. introduced fiber optics. TFO refers to our patented combination of Tritium and Fiber Optic technologies. The Tritium maintains the brightness level of the sight in low light (or NO light) conditions. That means you can see your sight even in complete darkness—with perfect transition through all light conditions. Tritium does not need batteries and does not need to be charged with light—it simply glows!
The ultimate handgun sight.
Uses patented TFO technology.
Unbelievable transition through all light conditions.
Glows in the dark.
Uses the best tritium available.
CNC machined steel construction.
Green front and rear.
Concealed fiber cannot be seen by target.
Fits standard holsters.
Snag resistant design.

Price Check!
For you, MSRP x 2.
They are usually in the $100 range then fee for have them put on. Obviously a glock being less since anything on them takes 5 minutes. If you are going to have a set put on a XD, then you are probably looking around $50 since they have to be fitted to the gun.

The Taurus probably needs all the help it can get. LOL!!!
Just remember Lino those XD sights are a pain in the ass, especially on older used models.

why a PITA?
It seems the longer the stock ones have been on they are harder to get off. Probably due to the heating and cooling of the metals from firing them. I have done several of them. The last one I did was a XD 40, and that was the biggest pain in the ass to get off.

what tool do you use to remove them? some kind of press?
No press, nothing available yet to work on these. So a brass punch and hammer. Usually some penetrating lubricant and some heat for the worse ones.

so when you are done the original sights are scratched and dented?
so when you are done the original sights are scratched and dented?
Sometimes they are ok. Brass punches are softer than steel, so usually the old sights are scuffed with brass marks that come off with a chemical wash. Where XD's are concerned, sometimes you have to hit them hard enough to bend or break the front sight blade. Still, saving the originals is usually a wasted effort, as you almost never want to put the originals back on the gun. When installing Truglos or any other sight on dovetailed slides, you have to many times hand fit them to the gun. That means that the sights that are put on your gun will likely not fit another gun well.
As Phil said its a gamble if you can keep them or not. I still have my originals, but I also did mine the first few months I owned the gun.

After getting them on mine, I would never think of switching them again. I almost felt sorry for Cris when he put them on.

Just tap it in, tappy tap.
so all I here from everyone is how bad the TFO's are.. how they fall apart and are easily damged by cleaning solutions, and how one would be brighter than the other on the same gun...
I asked a vendor about getting these... he said he would not ever sell them, he would do the install for $25.00 but if it breaks in the future, I'm on my own..
Also hears that a second generation was to come out soon..

if you get the TFO's give us an update after 1000 rnds..
I have a G19 with TFO's and about 800 round count. No problems at all.
i decided for the TFO's. lets see how it works after a few days in the range.
Good choice Raul, although they are my favorite sight.
