Man...what a F'n pain in the ass!!! We were originally planning on putting them on pallets and getting a Budget or Penske truck with a lift gate. I was just gonna buy a pallet jack off of craig's list for $100 or so. Turns out that there aren't any truck rental companies that offer lift gates on their one-way moving trucks. Figures....
So I started looking for other options. One suggestion was to rent another truck for a day with a lift gate and transfer the safes into the moving truck using the lift gate...Fuck that! I'm not toying around these giant ass safes. Called a freight liner that delivers our shipping supplies for the business, but they won't pick up shipments from a residence...even though they'll deliver to a residence...so stupid.
Finally found a freight liner that will pick them up, load them, and deliver them and place them where we want....R&L Carriers. It's gonna be about $550 total, which isn't too bad considering we paid $900 to get them here from Ft. Myers.
Ended up getting a Penske truck for everything else. $1300 for that, so it would have been nice to be able to save the money on moving the safes. Moving is expensive!:suicide1:
