don't have a bluebook here, and Gunbroker is not all that effective, but it sounds like you did ok.

If it doesn't have a collector's premium, then you're probably ok to refinish if you aren't happy with the finish. Can't tell without looking at the bluebook first if it has any collector's value. My guess is it doesn't as it isn't a gun that has any historical significance.

what would you guess refinishing of a small pocketgun like this one would be?

Ruger on FSN had a post asking about local refinishing and in that thread is a guy in Boca that does rebluing out of his house with a number of people actually giving him props. My guess is that it will cost you anywhere from $100 to $200. You could have it duracoated for less. Ask Stoneface what he would charge.

yeah for 175.00 for the gun... i woould hate to spend the same amount on a refinish..maybe duracoat is the way to go...or a black sharpie =)

found the guy's website

call him, as if you do most of the prepwork, he will discount his fees.

now this is service...i got this note from the refinisher tonight

I started working on your parts tonight. Hopefully, all will be well and I'll get them in the mail tomorrow. A few notes about your parts....

The firing pin retainer looked a little jacked up, like it had been installed from the top using a metal hammer. The top end was mushroomed pretty bad. I needed to remove the firing pin anyway, so while it was apart, I cleaned up the pin and put the mushroomed end on the bottom, unseen. There shouldn't be any burrs on it when I'm done. Just keep an eye on things.

At the last minute, I decided to use Teflon/moly instead of Gunkote. I remembered how the last pocket Berretta fit and thought that you shouldn't have any issues with clearences. The T/M is a little harder than GunKote and should serve you well. The only trade off is it is a little shinier than Gunkote. I think you'll like it.

When you install your parts, be sure to lube everything well before assembly. This will help it "fit" itself without damage. Work the action a lot and most importantly....Inspect it and test fire it before betting your life on it. I can stress this enough. ANYTHING can happen. Ensure it didn't.

I'll contact you with shipping info when I have it. Thanks for your business!

i sent it out tues to him and already have a tracking number for its return... 35.00 bucks
