It's my understanding that they're great weapons. Someone else on the board owns one, hopefully they catch this post and have better input for you.

Great solid gun with a high value for the dollar. In the same value and durability category as Springfield XD's and Glocks (gasp!).

I went to Gander Mnt yesterday to put some cash down on my gun and fill out my paperwork, so i can pick er up next week and noticed they had "ZERO" 9 mm rounds on the shelf...WTF!?
Nobody has ammo right now. I have heard rumors down here to hit up Walmart at 10am on Tuesday mornings to get your ammo.
I have a friend in NY that is in LE. He just got the S&W M&P40c. He was pushing me toward that pistol, he swears by it. I went to one of those rental ranges and fired a bunch of pistols. For me, the M&P40C felt unstable and loose in the grip. It felt like the mag was going to pop out every round I put through it. I have fat hands and that may be part of the problem. I know S&W makes a great firearm but for me I didnt care much for it. I also fired the G23, G27 and Sig P220 all in .40 S&W. I think my favorite was the Sig but they are so damn expensive I could not do it. I am wishing I tried some other makes. In the future I will.
