Wheres the best place to purchase cheap 9mm ammo?I want to start stock piling before i pickup my Smith next month.

doubt it as walmart can sell so cheap due to the volume that they sell...mom and pop have more overhead hence usually a bit higher pricing

check out Stone Heart in Miami.. the guy sells for around $.17/rnd
its in one of the other ammo threads in here somewhere
I just got a thousand rounds of S&B before all the nut jobs bought it when the newspapers put out that ammo shortage ad.
Plus I just got a thousand rounds of .223 S&B also. I am good for a bit, I hate that cheap stuff at Walmart, so dirty. I still have a box of winchester whites 9mm that I won't even shoot.

They are opening a Dick's Sporting Goods store near me soon..I wonder if they are comparable?

I went to walmart Friday to pick up some rounds and they had "NADDA"!ask the clerk when they were getting some in and she just shook her head and said she had no clue and that they had been out for awhile.

yep tried 2 walmarts yesterday... 1 had some 50rnd boxes of .40 but nothing else
Yeah, swung by the Walmart by Turtle Run and all they had was various hunting rounds and 12ga and 20ga birdshot.

yh have had some serious issues finding some. My buddy went to Lou's and they had some, he picked up 9mm for me. Also ordered some from Cabelas and Bass Pro. Bass Pro has some 9mm in stock that they just got in...12.99 for 50 plus shipping --115 grain. Cabela's has some 9mm S&B 124 grain as well in stock.
I just ordered 1000 rds of .45acp from Cabelas. They said it would be a 2-3 week wait but I figured what the hell. So I will just buy what I can find between now and when it comes in then I will be all set. Now that I have fired my AK and fell in love, I need to find 7.62x39.

600-750$ by the case depending on what you want (M193, M855, SS109, etc).
A 500rd case of Federal off the shelf stuff is $600????? OUCH.
I believe Stone Hart has .223. You should give them a call. I really like their stuff. Its nicer then a lot of factory loads and shoots very clean and true.

No, Federal comes 900 rounds per case (30 bandoleer boxes, 3 stripper clips & 1 spoon per box).

In the loose ammo, bulk military style yes. "Off the shelf" meaning in individual boxes is different stuff. You can get 25-box, 500rd half-cases of the higher quality stuff.

That's over $200 more than what I paid for it a month ago at streichers. I only got 2 spoons in the entire case. Doesn't matter tho as they dont work with P-mags.

I wish I could bring myself to buy in that much bulk. Right now I'm on a quest to find 45 ammo in bulk first. Once I get that I'll consider rifle ammo.

Thanks, I was fortunate enough to have a perfect storm roll my way and I snatched up 1600 rounds @ 30 cents/round of Blazer Brass.
I may grab one more XD-45 Compact (this one is great) to have a nice pair and after that it's purely focus on AR-15 build and .223/5.56 ammo. Then I'll look at getting all the random gear to go along with my toys. Last will probably be a BUG - just because rounds like the .380 are nearly impossible to find, even at gouging stores it is rare.
