Damn, I laughed through that whole thing. I have an AK, planning to buy a Mosin, and am on the list for an AR. No truer words have been printed about them.

I think I bought it for $5 at walmart last year. I figured it was cheaper to buy than rent in the long run. So far, I watched it once........ although I watched Top Gun twice, so that one's paid for itself!

Those 80s movies are easy to get online with a bit torrent client. I just downloaded Vision Quest the other day. I am going to have to get Red Dawn now. Think its been like 10 yrs since I saw it.

Found a site with Mosin's restored to like-new for 80$ and 800-rounds of 7.62x54R for 150$. Only 25$ transfer fee at GunTech right? Too bad it would take 4 months nowadays to get a Curio license.

Cris

$25 transfer fee + $5 background check.

I really want to buy a Mosin Nagant 91/30 but the only place I have seen them is at the gun shows. I dont trust the guys selling them at those shows. I suppose if I had the head space set for that rifle I could give it a good examination before purchase but I would rather get one from someone I can trust....oh yeah and not over pay.

Bitch, you know my background - you're always staring at my ass! Would just be a bitch to have to drive down there for individual items. I think I'm going to have to do a bulk order just so I can make one trip (and really set off some FBI/ATF flags). lol

Jax, i am soooo down with that idea lol. I have been looking at MN's for a LOOOOOOONG time. Found a couple of sites that do sell them, but the source you found is a hell of a deal. Mind sharing where you found that?

http://www.aimsurplus.com/acatalog/Czech_7.62x54R_Light_Ball.html

There you go. Get it while you can. They have good deals here and there, but plenty of people shop there so the deals can go dead pretty fast.

Also, if you're into getting used pieces (rifles and handguns) for range fun or ones you wouldn't mind a wife/girlfriend/kid/buddy beating up or getting dirty - then try SummitGunBrokers (.com). He's a good guy with nothing but positive feedback online.

He gets tons of confiscated collections and retired department collections along with plenty of new guns.

Here's what I may want to get from him:
http://www.summitgunbroker.com/Suppressed_Guns.html

It's a Sig 22 Mosquito with silencer for 595$. The Sig TacLite in the picture is another 150$. If this kid in the womans stomach turns out to be a boy... this may get ordered to give to him on his 7th or 8th birthday.

You would have to make two trips down here Jax if you don't have your conceal weapons permit.

Excellent links. Now, if I dont have a FFL, which I dont, how do I purchase a rifle from that guy?

JaxChris
03-31-2009, 07:36 PM
Ship to GunTech, pay GunTech 30$ in transfer & background check fees.

Cris
04-01-2009, 07:24 AM
Precisely, you may also need a copy of Guntech's FFL for the shipper.

Dan
04-01-2009, 08:36 AM
OK, I can do that. I will be by the shop soon. I am going to call that guy to see the order of things. Exactly what order he needs me to do things in.

Cris
04-01-2009, 09:08 AM
More than likely you will have to Nik will have to fax over the FFL to him, make sure he sends a copy of his FFL when shipping also. Also on the label who it is for or inside the box. So many people don't label them.

Hahaha Jax, i've been staring at AIM for months putting off buying that MN. I thought that for $150 you got the rifle AND the ammo so that's why i was so curious where you found that deal. I think i'm gonna go ahead and get one (too bad they ran out of the hex receiver ones. I am also gonna get that AMD 65. Gonna call Nik to see if she can find one for me and if they can i'll go with guntech instead. Either way, my purchases will be headed to guntech.

When are you gonna get yours Jax?!

Dan
04-03-2009, 04:52 PM
I just bought a Mosin Nagant from AIM and am having it sent to Guntech. Last night I was looking at the ammo deal AIM has on 7.62x54r and I ordered up 800 rounds. For $150 I couldnt pass it up. The guy at AIM said it is pretty nice stuff. I cant wait to get my MN. combathunting.com has a bunch of accessories for the MN too, different furniture, scope mounts, tri-rails ect. I am going to set mine up with a bipod, some new furniture, and a undetermined scope.

HAHAHA awesome, i just ordered one too from AIM not an hour ago and having it sent to guntech as well! I also got the amd 65 since its getting harder to find that. Are you having the ammunition sent directly to your door or is it going to guntech as well? I havent purchased any ammo yet. I will look for pricing on other sites and i'll let you know what i find since you and i are looking for the same caliber. Maybe ill see you at guntech!

Jax, order one already!

They said they will not combine shipping on the rifle and ammo so I held off on the ammo when I ordered the rifle. I went online the next day and ordered it before they ran out. Like I said, 800 rounds for $150.00 is a bargin as long as it fires. I had the ammo shipped directly to me. I am hoping to get it sometime this week. Nice call on the AMD 65, I would like one too but I have to get my AR first. I am on the list at Guntech for a Rock River. I cant wait for it.

Now if I could just find target loads for my Glock 30SF, .45acp I would be happy.

JaxChris
04-04-2009, 10:00 PM
TDS has 45acp for 17$ per 50rnd/box. But they go in and out of stock daily. You have to really watch them.

Slow, I've got to finish winning with the woman about loading up on weapons. She's in over-protective mode because of the pregnancy.

It'll probably be a couple months before I can start going crazy though. =(

Fucking responsibilities. =(

I have 2 months of no toys left and all the credit cards are paid off and I'll be a full month ahead on bills. Once that's done I can start utilizing the additional income from the lower bills toward a collection. Woman said I can do it since I admitted it wouldn't be practical to get one of the new Camaro's at this moment in time.

Only stipulation to my spending is that atleast half of the freed up monthly money goes into savings for future and baby initial baby purchases.

I really hate this whole responsible thing sometimes. lol

Its a 2-3 week wait but I just ordered 1000rds of .45acp Wolf FMJ from Cabelas online. It was $318.00 shipped to me. Thats 32 cents per round. I have not seen ball/range ammo under 50 cents per round. I dont mind waiting a few weeks and they would take a back order on it. Now I am looking for a good deal on 7.62x39 for the AK. I found some Wolf on Cabelas but I will look locally first. Anything over $8/box of 20 is just too expensive. I will continue to hunt.
