Well just found this site by messing around on the web a little and decided to join. Anyway new to firearms, but have always wanted to dive in. Planning on also getting me CWL.

Well thought I would say hello and I just purchased the Ruger SR9. I know there are a lot of mixed reviews out there but after doing as much research I could I figured this was the best sidearm out there for me seeing this is my first gun. I just loved how it fit my hand etc and seeing that I am desperately trying to save for a house by year's end I did not want to part with a lot of cash. Pretty excited except gotta wait til Wednesday to pick it up. Any thoughts on the choice?

Now it's just time to find some ammo lol

Welcome. There's a couple of SR9 owners on this site. Obviously everyone thinks very highly of their LCP's and 10/22's. Not sure why the SR9 hasn't been a mainstream hit. Let us know how you like it.

Welcome. People don't like the triggers on the SR9. Also make sure you don't have one of the recalled SR9's with the bad safety. I have never shot one so I don't know.

yh the trigger was the first thing i checked (they replaced it with a more Glock like trigger to prevent accidental discharges when dropped). I also heard about the trigger issues, ie being gritty but that it got gradually better with some shooting. Also read someone took it apart and noticed some burrs, which they sanded down and that also improved the trigger (believe that was what i had read although i could be wrong so feel free to rail me and my terminology lol)

LMAO. You see lino, when you get north of the Miami-Dade line, you tend to catch on quicker. :raspberry:

I have a cozy partner and Cris suggested the Crossbreed Super Tuck to me as well. I must say, I LOVE the Crossbreed. What a great holster. VERY comfortable. JMO

Yes the Crossbreed Holster to me is one of the best so far. I like the comfort of the Desantis Scorpion, but you can't tuck your shirt in or adjust the height.

I have a Scorpion and it's a damn good holster to say the least, but the height does get in the way depending on wardrobe. Comfort is excellent, but I think imma still going to pick up a crossbreed at some point.

I need to order the new clips that are coming with the Crossbreed's. They used to be plastic and are now metal. I went through one set already in about 6-8 months. Metal will just last much longer.

a little sckeptical about purchasing the Crossbreed. It just looks very large and would like to try it on before i purchased it. Any places have it in stock? Right now leaning towards a Cozy Partner

Guntech has them. Not sure if they have one in stock for an SR9 but you can try one on for a Glock or XD just to get the feel of it.
The Cozy Partner nice I have to go pick one up for an SR9 I ordered for a buddy of mine at Guntech and I also have one for my G30SF. Damn good holster no complaints. Great comfort and the kant is perfect. when driving Doesn't screw with the seat belt and you can draw quickly. Means alot for a big guy like myself

If I am at the shop I can let you try my Crossbreed on with the XD to just get the feel. This way you can feel on that is broken in.

That holster being that big is the reason why it is so comfortable, so its not putting pressure on one point, which is what makes carrying for more than a few hours very uncomfortable with most holsters.
