It definitely is out of control. If you wanna make it better one thing to do is to make it not so great to be in prison any more. This is just one of many things, because these scumbags look at prison as a bragging right, make it feared again. Once you lose your rights and are put in prison, you don't deserve fair treatment, you chose to lose them.

In today's world, for most people, having a felony record is an achievement. Most will brag about it because they live the stress-free lifestyle (no job, no bills, no responsibilities, etc). Prison and jail is the norm to them. Just look at most of the common websites, with their pro-criminal, anti-police and "fuck the world" mindsets and comments. It's no wonder all of these incidents are occuring.

More and more, I am packing a piece everywhere I go. I choose not to be a victim.

Troy, that definitely crazy and a little homicidal sounding. People are not supposed to look forward to an opportunity to kill/shoot someone - EVER. Not blasting you, just answering your hope question.

My view toward what Cris & Doug said is that they should just stop expanding the prison systems. Basically make it so only so many people can be in there at a time. This includes local jails also. Here's how the system should work:

Local jails that reach capacity push their offenders that have been there the longest to prison. When they reach prison they serve their remaining balance. Now in prison when capacity is reached the inmates with the most time left is executed, NOT let the person with the least time left leave. This allows for the worst criminals to be removed from society if they population levels are high.

Then criminals will think twice about whether they want to do something that could end them up in prison for 10+ years. If they stopped paroling people just to make room in prisons, there is no way any idiot that deals drugs, rapes, or qualifies for the 10/20/Life rule will ever be lucky enough to make it out of prison alive. Either the amount of criminal activities will go down because they know they'll be executed before they finish serving, or we'll be saving a ton of money by executing the worst criminals all day long instead of clothing, feeding, and building facilities for them year in and year out.

There would definitely be a scared-straight effect if these punks knew that any severe or violent crime would end in the chair eventually. The only other course these criminals would take is to kill themselves at the end of their PMS'ing like the vietnamese guy in NY did. Even then, we saved money by not having to put him in jail or prison. It's a shame those others had to die, but crime is inevitable. About 80% of all crime is committed by a repeat offender. And crime has a mental predisposition - hence why many PD's now require criminal psychology degrees. In the end we'd have less of these criminals on the street to repeat their offenses and others on the fence about committing a crime would think twice about whether they want to end their life right there or get caught, goto jail, goto prison, and eventually die in there.

But this concept is far to harsh for liberals because that would mean condemning a minority. Fuck, they can't even vote for you anymore, why not Pelosi/Obama/Clinton?

The sheriff in Arizona has the right idea. Outside in tents in the middle of the heat. Inmates work out, watch tv all day in air conditioning, heck some can even get their degree.

We have turned into a kinder gentler nation. We want to rehabilitate people who just can't seem to function in society. Put them the fuck away. Build a gigantic tent city in the middle of the state and let all these fuckers sweat.

Tents are too nice. Sheet metal barracks without any insulation or A/C would be better. But then that makes it too cheap to store prisoners, which means we'd keep expanding facilities until the state of California is turned into a giant prison.
